So many things have been happening in the theme park world lately!
Universal Studios Hollywood
At Disney World, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind just opened and we’ve seen some BIG progress on TRON. We’ve also been keeping an eye on the construction over at Universal’s Epic Universe theme park, which will be opening up in a few years. But, another Universal resort is getting something new and exciting WAY sooner — and we just found out WHEN it’s happening!
Super Nintendo World is coming to Universal Studios Hollywood in early 2023! It was previously announced that the land would be opening sometime in 2023, but now we know we won’t have to wait too long once the year begins.

Super Nintendo World will feature a new ride called Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge where you get to battle Team Bowser on iconic Mario Kart courses! You will join Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach to collect coins and throw shells to win the Golden Cup. This is the world’s first interactive Mario Kart ride! You can take a closer look at the ride in the video below:
Is that some sort of MagicBand device we just saw in that video?! Hmmm…something to keep an eye on!

Super Nintendo theming will also be coming to Universal’s Epic Universe park at Universal Orlando in a few years! The park is in the early stages of being built right now and will include theming from Illumination and DreamWorks properties as well. Right now, the park is predicted to open sometime in 2025 after being delayed.
