Iconic ‘it’s a small world’ Song to be Preserved in National Recording Registry

The Library of Congress announced today that the original recording of the iconic “it’s a small world” song would be one of 25 audio recordings to be preserved on the National Recording Registry.

Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden named this year’s 25 recordings deemed worthy of “preservation for all time based on their cultural, historical or aesthetic importance in the nation’s recorded sound heritage” the release read.

The original Disneyland Boys Choir recording of the “it’s a small world” song shares the honor with other well-known songs and audio recordings. These include Alicia Key’s “Songs in A Minor,” Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.”
