Well, EPCOT, This Is Not How We Expected To Eat a BLT Today (But We’re Into It)

Can you hear that?

BLT Scone

It’s the sound of flowers blooming and bees buzzing and Orange Bird merchandise dropping into shops. It’s the sound of outdoor kitchens at the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival cooking up some delicious snacks and getting ready to offer up some yummy drinks. Speaking of drinks, let’s head on over to Cider House to see what’s up.

Yep, this is a booth DEDICATED to cider in EPCOT’s U.K. Pavilion!

Menu

It’s not JUST about drinks here — there are a few snacks available, too. This year, there’s even a new offering.

Of course, there are a good variety of ciders here, too!

Food

This year, the BLT Scone with Nueske’s applewood-smoked bacon, sundried tomato, and basil is making its grand debut at this festival for $5.

This was TASTY, like could-be-a-best-of-the-fest tasty. The flavors were pretty close to what you’d expect with the super flavorful basil and sun-dried tomatoes. The scone had a delightful dry texture to it (as any scone should) that was balanced out by the FABULOUS bacon jam.

BLT Scone

Seriously, we’d spread this jam on ANYTHING. It has an apple-y smokiness to it that is STELLAR and the slight fruity flavors help to further balance the savory scone. DELISH.

For a little something sweet, the Dark Chocolate Raspberry Tart with whipped cream has returned. Last year, we thought this was one DECADENT treat (and we’re not mad about it). This is a chocolate-lover’s dream, y’all.

We tried this guy last year and were pretty happy with the classic flavors. It’s fruity and chocolaty so if you go for raspberry, this could be a good option for you. Pick it up for $4.50.

Drink

As we mentioned, there are plenty of ciders on hand to try — all of them returning from past years. You can grab the Pink Lemonade Hard Cider, the Watermelon Hard Cider, and the Triple Jam Hard Cider in a flight. When we tried this last year, the Pink Lemonade Cider was our favorite. These ciders are available in the flight for $10, as a 6-ounce pour for $5, or as a 12-ounce pour for $9.

You can also get the Samuel Smith Old Brewery Pure Brewed Organic Lager for $5 for 6 ounces or $9 for 12 ounces. And a version of the Snakebite is available here — this one is made with Triple jam hard cider and pure brewed organic lager. We’ve liked it quite a bit in the past and you can try it for $9!

Overall

Overall, we tend to enjoy a visit to Cider House. Certainly, if you’re a cider drinker it could be a MUST STOP. On the other hand, there’s not too much variety at this booth if you don’t love cider. BUT, surprisingly, the BLT Scone was a real winner and we might be back at this spot for seconds of that eat.

For now, though, we’ve got to KEEP GOING. We’re trying out EVERYTHING at the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival, so be sure to check back with us with more reviews!
