Splash Mountain CLOSED After Evacuation in Disney World This Morning

You’ve heard the old expression, “It took the wind out of our sails,” but what about “It took the splash out of our mountain“? Disney World is no stranger to a ride evacuation; popular attractions like Splash Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean have been going through it lately!

Splash Mountain

During our recent trip to the Magic Kingdom, we noticed that Splash Mountain wasn’t, well, splashing, so we went over to investigate.

One of Frontierland’s most popular attractions was missing something pretty major: PEOPLE!

Oh no!

At around 10:30AM, Splash Mountain was evacuated and guests were helped off the attraction. We saw some Cast Members around the ride making sure everyone was safe.

The attraction is still currently listed as “Temporarily Closed” on the My Disney Experience app, and Cast Members are standing in front of the entrance to inform guests of the closure.

In the event of an unexpected evacuation or closure, Cast Members may provide guests with an “experience redemption” that they can use to ride another Disney World attraction via the Lightning Lane. Keep in mind that an experience redemption pass is not guaranteed.

You don’t see the line THIS empty very often!

We’ll continue to monitor the status of Splash Mountain, so make sure to stay tuned for more updates!
