REVIEW: Uh, Does this NEW Spot have the BEST Fries in Disney World?!

We recently found out that a BRAND NEW food spot was coming to Disney World, and today, we finally got to try it for ourselves!

New food spot!

It’s called Local Green, which is an Atlanta-based restaurant that specializes in vegan, vegetarian, and pescatarian options. The new location is a food truck over in Disney Springs, and the menu looks pretty exciting! So, let’s dive on in and try a bunch of new food!

Local Green’s mission is “to redefine healthy, affordable food for all by creating an ecosystem based on trust and accountability.” They say on their website that they provide a culinary experience focused on health that tastes good and helps you feel good, while giving you a cultural experience that “binds us as a community.”

Local Green’s Story

The menu is listed on the side of the truck…

…and there is a QR menu available as well!

But, that’s not all — they also have paper menus available with some more in-depth descriptions of the food.

A more detailed look at the menu

We started off our meal with the Monsta, which is a sandwich with pan seared jumbo shrimp, house made slaw, sliced beefsteak tomato, and sriracha mayo for $15.99. This is a completely pescatarian item!

It is truly a “Monsta” sandwich!

The shrimp had a nice char on them with some great flavor from the blackened seasoning. They were just a bit over-salted to us, though — but that might have just been something particular to our experience!

You might want a few napkins for this one!

The sriracha aioli was delicious and added a nice kick, and the tomato was fresh and juicy. The house made slaw was also good and brought a good crunch to the sandwich. And, the brioche bun was great, because it’s hard to go wrong with those!

A look inside!

Next, we got the Badu Wrap, which is a vegan spinach tortilla wrap filled with kale, quinoa blend, red onions, tomatoes, nutritional yeast, and locally sourced kale dressing for $13.99. This dish, as you can probably tell, is completely vegan!

So GREEN!

We thought this wrap was super tasty! The tortilla was nice and all of the veggies were fresh and crisp, giving the wrap a good crunch. The dressing in the wrap is slightly sweet, which adds another interesting note to the overall taste. This is a simple but delicious wrap for plant-based eaters, or just someone who wants some fresh veggies while in Disney Springs!

A great way to eat your veggies

Finally, we got the Air Fries for $5.99.

Fries time!!

These fries were OUTSTANDING. They were our favorite thing we tried (are you surprised?!😉). To us, they tasted like Arby’s curly fries, minus the curl. They were crispy crunchy and absolutely delicious.

Just LOOK at how crispy they are

The fries actually had a bit of a kick to them from some chili and garlic seasoning, so they’re not just your average French fries! The next time we get them, we’re going to ask for a side of that sriracha aioli on the side to dip them in.

We’d come here just for the fries, TBH!

Overall, this new spot is filling a big need in Disney Springs — that need being more accessible vegan and pescatarian food. It’s a great option if you’re looking for something different than your typical pizza or chicken fingers, or if you want some tasty vegan and pescatarian food. We can’t wait to try the other things on the menu!
