There’s WAY more new food to be had at Disneyland Resort outside of the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival.

Now, don’t get us wrong, we’ve been enjoying our time at the Food & Wine Festival, snacking on such delicious things like an Impossible Gyro, Glazed BBQ Pork Belly, Avocado Toast, Black & Tan Potato Puffs, and more! But we found two new dishes outside of the festival to try, too!

Two new seasonal menu items have been added to Award Wieners at Disney California Adventure: a Southwest Cheesesteak for $15.49 and Strawberry Shortcake Funnel Cake Fries for $8.99. All right, then!

So we did what we do — we ordered both! The Southwest Cheesesteak is made with Thinly-sliced Steak with Caramelized Onions, Poblano Peppers, Pepper Jack, Guacamole, and Chipotle Aїoli on a toasted Baguette, served with Cuties Mandarin Oranges or Filmstrip Fries — yes, we opted for fries. So here’s the thing — this takes a little bit longer to make than other items on the menu here — a Cast Member told us about 9 minutes total.

Well, guess what? This beautiful sandwich is worth the wait. There’s a ton of delicious steak, onions, and peppers on a fresh and toasted baguette that makes our taste buds sing! We were a little worried about the chipotle aioli, but in the end, we found it to be mild. However, we could’ve used more of those Filmstrip Fries.

However, the Strawberry Shortcake Funnel Cake Fries didn’t live up to the hype. They just weren’t as tasty as we felt they should’ve been.

Other seasonal flavors here have been a lot tastier (like the Chocolate-Marshmallow Funnel Cake Fries we had last year).  The strawberry sauce on top of these was also almost sickly sweet. We would pass on having these again.

If you’d like to try either of these treats out, though, they will be available for a limited time at Award Wieners.
