Well, folks, the 2022 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival decided to open a day early, so we’re here to give you some food reviews!
We’re over at Cluck-A-Doodle-Moo checking out all the goodies at this year’s festival. This booth has been a long-time favorite of ours, ever since it debuted back in 2018. And, this year they’re back serving up some festival favorites — let’s check them out!
Menu
We’ve seen some pretty delicious offerings from this booth at past festivals, and this year is no different. There’s also an exciting new drink available — the Blackberry Lavender Lemonade!
But enough reading of the menu, let’s actually taste what’s on it!
Food
We got ALL of the items on the menu, y’all — so it’s time to chow down!
The Ranch Wings with Hot Sauce Drizzle are back for $8.50!
These wings are delicious! They’re not too strong on the ranch flavor — it’s subtle but nice. The meat is also super tender and came right off the bone, which is exactly how we like our wings, thank you very much!
Now, let’s move on to the French Onion Grilled Beef Tenderloin Slider, which is also $8.50. This is grilled beef tenderloin topped with a Gruyère cheese sauce and caramelized onions served on an onion roll.
This was just okay. It looked kind of dry to us, but thankfully it was not!
However, it wasn’t as good as when we had it the last time, so that was a bit disappointing. We probably wouldn’t get it again.
Drinks
New to the festival this year is the Blackberry-Lavender Lemonade. It’s made with blackberry, pineapple juice, lavender syrup, and lemon juice for $6. This is a non-alcoholic drink, so the kids are able to try it as well!
We liked how the tasted while we were drinking it, but the aftertaste was a little odd. The lavender syrup really kicked in, so if you don’t like lavender, be warned that it’s pretty strong in this drink!
There are also four beers on the menu over here — the Coronado Brewing Weekend Vibes IPA, the Brouwerij West Dig My Earth DIPA, the Wild Barrel White Rabbit Belgian Style White, and the SLO Brew Pink Lemonade Lager. Each of these beers are $13, or you can get them all in a Sampler Beer Flight for $17, which is what we did!
Starting with the Weekend Vibes IPA, it smelled really fruity, but then it has a bit of a strange aftertaste. The Dig My Earth DIPA smelled good, but then tasted a kind of like dirt to us, so it definitely lives up to its name! Do note that this one is hoppy since it’s a double IPA.
The White Rabbit Belgian Style White is beer flavored beer — it’s the flavor you think of when you think of a stereotypical beer — but it does still have some hop to it! And finally, we tried the Pink Lemonade Lager. This was our favorite of the four! It has just a hint of lemonade and was nice and light.
This festival is going on until April 26th, so go on over and check it out if you want some of these eats and drinks!
