Prepare the Lactaid Pills: We Tried FIVE Flavors of Ice Cream in Disneyland!

You know the old saying, “I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!“? Well, we’re not sure whose idea it was to scream about ice cream — seems a little extreme, doesn’t it? Of course, we, too are pretty passionate about ice cream, especially Salt & Straw ice cream. Now, it’s our turn to talk (in an appropriate volume) about the latest ice cream flavors to arrive in Downtown Disney.

Salt & Straw

Before we get into it, for our friends on the east coast, we’ve got good news! Salt & Straw is opening a location in Disney Springs, and it’s coming very soon! But while we wait for Disney Springs to get it together, let’s check out the seasonal flavors at Salt & Straw in Disneyland.

Did you know that you don’t have to decide between multiple Salt & Straw ice cream flavors? Turns out, you can get a flight of four kid-sized scoops of ice cream for $14.75. Each scoop of ice cream comes with its own piece of waffle cone to give you a little crunch with your ice cream.

Salt and Straw at Downtown Disney

For the month of March, Salt & Straw is bringing back some of its popular cereal flavors, including Peanut Butter Cheer Yo Clusters, Pots of Gold & Rainbows (bottom right), Cornflake Cookies with Marionberry Jam (top right), OffLimits’ Cocoa Puffs ‘n Cold Brew (top left), and Snap and Crackle Marshmallow Treats (bottom left).

The best of four worlds in one handy container!

So, how do these returning flavors hold up? To start, the Pots of Gold & Rainbows ice cream is simple and sweet, with a lovely little marshmallow addition. The Cornflake Cookies with Marionberry Jam ice cream contains crispy and buttery cornflakes with a rich brown butter sauce (and the jam is amazing, too). OffLimits’ Cocoa Puffs ‘n Cold Brew is dense and sweet, and the cold brew flavor is strong. Finally, the Snap and Crackle Marshmallow Treats ice cream was salty, sweet, crunchy, rich, creamy, and savory all at once — we loved it!

Yum, yum, and yum

To finish off the seasonal menu, we also tried a small scoop of the Peanut Butter Cheer Yo Clusters ice cream! This one was very heavy on the peanut butter flavor, and included pieces of peanut butter Cheerios.

We got a little bonus sample, too!

Overall, we really enjoyed our flight of ice cream (plus an extra scoop of peanut butter ice cream)! We’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more!
