Jolly Roger & Pixie Hollow Prop Installation Begins, Hotel Scaffolds Come Down in Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea

With just a year to go until the $2 billion Fantasy Springs project opening window arrives, construction is speeding along in earnest to get the land ready for its 2023 debut! So much has changed in the past few weeks, so let’s take a look over the site and see what’s new.

You can of course check out a quick look through YouTube, or keep on reading for a more detailed rundown.

Construction is progressing so fast that we can start to see the basics of the site even from across the resort. This view from the side of Tokyo Disneyland makes the scale of the project seem rather sizeable.

Fantasy Springs Hotel

More details are still being added to the hotel’s western facade, with accoutrements and painting still underway.

Meanwhile, this little corner looks to be just about ready, with the lower cream and upper light pink paint completely done.

Meanwhile, landscape installation is almost complete on the approach to the hotel’s main entrance.

Construction has begun on the porte cochère which will cover guest cars driving up to the hotel.

Meanwhile this entire front section of the hotel has been unveiled in its grand pink color with a seafoam green roof.

Landscaping is still underway, as is much of the work surrounding the lobby area.

A second porte cochére is also under construction to the right of the hotel’s entrance.

All in all, things are looking pretty grand for what will purportedly be the most luxurious hotel at Tokyo Disney Resort.

The massive wing directly behind Bayside Station appears to be nearly ready for uncovering as well, we can see lots of ornamentation under the scaffolds, and the roof is already painted.

Very few changes have come to the mostly-bare eastern exterior facing Bayside Station.

Much of the hotel’s western half facing Fantasy Springs is already uncovered, and work continues on the lobby facing into the park.

“Frozen” Area

Scaffolds are starting to come down along the North Mountain as rockwork nears completion.

Lots of HVAC equipment has also been installed on the roof, and additional rockwork is going in along the shorter parts of the show building.

Things on the front are starting to look pretty good, with the mountain range progressing dramatically of late.

Many of the supporting structures around the attraction’s exterior as well as the Arendelle Castle are still just steel frames for the moment. Work will likely commence in earnest sooner than later.

“Tangled” Area

Work is progressing on Rapunzel’s tower and the mountains surrounding it. Rockwork is seemingly almost complete around the area.

The area which we also expect to see The Snuggly Duckling is quickly underway.

Meanwhile, the land’s waterfall area entrance is also under construction, although it’s incredibly difficult to get any insight here since the Central Power Plant building blocks the way.

“Peter Pan” Area

The shorter mountains of Neverland are being painted green, while the taller ones are still undergoing rockwork. Painting doesn’t appear to be ready there just yet.

The first major buildings to see completion appear to be some buildings for the “Tangled” attraction, with even some landscaping visible. Seems the Jolly Roger is also already in place as well, with Skull Rock likely nearing completion behind it.

The Pixie Hollow area is the most complete of the bunch, with some props already in place and most of the building out of scaffolding.

Construction has also begun on a rather simple rock facade which will just contain a waterfall and other decorative elements, per last year’s model flyovers.

We’re on the edge of our seats, waiting for the grand opening of Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea. Naturally we’ll continue covering it up to and during its grand opening, so be sure to keep your eyes on WDWNT for the latest!
