Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure Dedicated to Stan Lee

A new plaque at the entrance to Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure dedicates the land to the late Stan Lee.

Disney made no announcement regarding the new plaque, but Instagram user Danielle Richards (@danisdisneyadventures) shared photos of the plaque today.

The plaque is on a stone column, currently surrounded by flowers in blue planters.

It reads “We dedicate Avengers Campus to the incomparable Stan Lee.” This is followed by a Stan Lee quote:

“That person who helps others simply because it should or must be done, and because it is the right thing to do, is indeed without a doubt, a real superhero.”

It then says “Thank you, Stan, for inspiring the hero within each of us. You have made us all True Believers.”

Stan Lee passed away in 2018 at the age of 95.

Exterior Construction Almost Complete at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT

Exterior construction of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT is almost complete. The attraction is scheduled to open during Memorial Day weekend.

The sides of the building have been repainted off-white, grey, and black.

The front of the building is now completely covered in silver paneling.

Queue signs were installed on the greeter structure last week.

Signs for warnings and height requirements were erected recently as well but are covered with black tarps.

It seems theming is completed on the Xandarian starship in the courtyard.

Construction vehicles have been moved out of the courtyard.

The stand for the ship is covered in silvery paneling with some distressing.

The ship is currently surrounded by orange cones.

The exit, to the right of the building, also looks complete.

From the ground, we got another look at the ship.

After the ship was fully installed, smaller themed elements were added to it.

For example, these small pieces were installed beneath the nose of the ship.

Are you excited to ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind this summer? Let us know in the comments.

15 Things YOU Think Are NOT Worth The Hype in Disney World 🚫

We’re getting to the bottom of a DICEY Disney question.

Main Street USA

To our Facebook followers, we posed the question, “What’s something in Disney World that you think is NOT worth the hype?” We got around 1,800 responses and some of the most popular results might surprise you!

Rides

Some of our readers pointed out specific rides that might not be worth all the attention; here are some of the top answers!

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

Several of our followers agreed that Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is a bit overrated. One reader put it simply, “I guess it just wasn’t what I was expecting.”

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

Others noted that it felt a little lackluster compared to other recent attractions like Rise of the Resistance and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway!

Space Mountain

Though new rides weren’t the only ones catching some flack. One particularly iconic attraction from Magic Kingdom had a number of votes for not being worth the hype — Space Mountain!

Space Mountain

“I feel like I’m going to get decapitated every time I ride it so I scrunch down in my seat,” one reader said, “And once we rode it with the lights — do not recommend!”

Want to see more rides you might want to AVOID? Click here!

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway

Another new ride that our readers feel a little underwhelmed by is Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. There’s one very big reason why this ride catches some flack and that’s because folks don’t necessarily think it was worth the demise of its predecessor.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway

In the words of one reader, “Bring back the Great Movie Ride!!!!”

Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run

Nearby in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, some folks don’t get the hype of Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run. “As much as I love Disney, I was actually surprised at how disappointing the ride itself was,” a reader noted, “Pretty much our entire family agreed that the things you see while in line were more interesting than the ride itself. I would not wait more than 30 minutes or so for that one again. Star Tours is older but far better in my opinion.”

Millennium Falcon

Others agreed saying things like, “Herky, jerky, and the video is not clear. I had a crick in my neck the rest of my trip,” and “It’s only really fun if you’re a pilot.”

Frozen Ever After

Like Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, some of our readers think Frozen Ever After wasn’t worth the trade out from Maelstrom before it.

Frozen Ever After

Put simply, one reader said, “Maelstrom was better imo.”

Peter Pan’s Flight

Some rides are cute, but just NOT worth the wait and Peter Pan’s Flight was brought up as one of them by our readers. “That is a LONG wait for nothing spectacular,” one said. Another asked, “I like the ride and think it’s cute, but why the insane wait all of the time?!”

Peter Pan’s Flight

Soarin’ Around the World

Over in EPCOT, the current version of Soarin’, Soarin’ Around the World, might be overhyped according to our followers.

Soarin’ Around the World has a TON of smells!

One of our readers said, “It is crammed with CGI. And unless you are sitting in the center, you get distorted views of everything. I like the old version much better.”

To learn about some iconic Disney smells, click here!

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

We’ve got another one that people just think is not worth the wait — Seven Dwarfs Mine Train! One follower noted, “Big Thunder is better and usually has a much shorter line.”

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Another agreed, “Mine Train is too short of a ride for the wait.”

Click here to see more of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train!

Fireworks Shows

Some of our readers called out fireworks shows, and the new ones — Disney Enchantment and Harmonious — in particular.

Disney World is always evolving!

One reader just thinks the rides are more important saying, “We usually ride something with a long line instead.”

Eats

Some of our readers called out specific restaurants or eats as being overrated!

Be Our Guest Restaurant

Be Our Guest Restaurant was a POPULAR answer with many of our readers saying it’s not worth the hype.

Be Our Guest Atmosphere

Some noted, “Very expensive, nonspectacular foods. Beautiful room otherwise.” Others agreed by saying, “I do not understand the hype. While I am glad we got to experience it, we won’t go back. It was overpriced for underwhelming, bland food.”

To see our recent Be Our Guest review, click here!

Le Cellier

Another potentially overhyped restaurant is over in EPCOT. Le Cellier got a few votes for being underwhelming. One reader said, “Everyone raves about how amazing they are. I can make a better steak at home. Definitely not worth the price.”

Le Cellier

Another noted, “We really looked forward to going, and it was -good- but not great. Nothing special about the dining experience and the food was no better than Texas Roadhouse.”

Click here to learn more about Le Cellier!

Cupcakes

Bestill our hearts! A number of readers said Disney cupcakes are overrated!

Just one of MANY 50th Anniversary Treats in Disney World!

One reader put it, “The cupcakes look pretty but rarely taste good. Only had a few really tasty ones out of all the ones I’ve tried.”

Want to see what cupcakes you can get in Disney World right now? Click here!

EPCOT Festival Booths

We love an EPCOT festival, but it seems some of our followers don’t think they are worth the hype. One reader said, “It’s pretty hit or miss. At the Festival of the Holidays, the item we looked forward to the most was inedible. It had sat too long under heat lamps or something. We were better off eating from the restaurants.”

Festival of the Arts

Another mentioned festivals too saying, “I was really excited to go and it was just a crowded mess. We didn’t feel like we could enjoy EPCOT or the food. What a disappointment.”

To see EPCOT festival news, click here!

Staying on Property

Several readers mentioned that staying on property is way overhyped compared to a few years ago. One reader noted, “They have taken away so many of the perks,” and another said, “Currently at a Universal Hotel for less and not missing the Disney Hotels at all.”

Grand Floridian Room

Popcorn Buckets

This next one is pretty topical with the recent Figment Popcorn Bucket fiasco (a 6.5 hour wait!?). Several readers mentioned that Popcorn Buckets are way overhyped.

TWO major Festival highlights: the Figment Popcorn Bucket and NEW Festival rainbow lighting on Spaceship Earth!

One noted, “I wouldn’t even wait that long if it was my favorite character. I’d rather have the spork and I don’t even like sporks lol.”

Click here to see more of the Figment Popcorn Bucket!
