What’s New in Magic Kingdom: More 50th Anniversary Items and Tron Coaster Construction

Who needs a trip to Magic Kingdom? Raise your hand!

Let’s stop by Magic Kingdom!

If you’re missing Disney World’s original park, then we’ve got good news — today, we’re rounding up everything that happened in Magic Kingdom in the past few days to share with you. It’s like a virtual visit to Disney World!

Magic Kingdom Food Updates

Main Street Bakery

What’s the best way to start this post (and the day)? With coffee and breakfast, of course! Over at the park’s Starbucks location, we spotted a new sign for the 50th Celebration Cinnamon Roll with an updated photo of the treat.

It got a new sign!

The Mickey-shaped breakfast item (that you can order all day long) is now covered in even more icing and topped with a chocolate pressed penny. YUM!

Magic Kingdom Construction Updates

Splash Mountain

Splash Mountain is currently under a month-long refurbishment in Frontierland for some general maintenance. While it’s closed, the ride has been drained of water and it’s definitely a little strange to look at.

Construction continues!

We spotted workers in this area several times throughout the week, and we’ll continue to keep an eye on the progress here. They’ve got scaffolding, construction walls, equipment…the whole nine yards!

Tron Coaster

And over in Tomorrowland, we took a ride on the PeopleMover to see what was going on with the Tron coaster. We still don’t have an opening timeline for when we can expect this attraction, but construction seems to be moving along swiftly, so we’re rather pleased with that!

We see progress!

The building has taken shape and the land is cleared, and we continue to see workers out here frequently. We can’t wait to ride this one!

Magic Kingdom Attractions Updates

Tom Sawyer Island

If you’ve ever been over to Tom Sawyer Island in Magic Kingdom, then you know that all guests must travel across the Rivers of America by raft. These rafts have been operating for quite some time, and they typically have individual names.

The names used to be on those planks of wood.

However, this week the names were removed from the boats, perhaps due to some of their outdated cultural references. We’ll keep checking to see if they add new names or if they remain bare.

Magic Kingdom Merchandise Updates

Uptown Jewelers

And finally, let’s talk merchandise! At Uptown Jewelers, we got a new 50th Anniversary sweatshirt that looks super comfy, but it was the LAST one in stock during our visit. In case it comes back and you want to buy it, it was listed at $119.99.

New 50th Anniversary sweatshirt!

The store also got some new BaubleBar jewelry this week. There’s a new Mickey and Minnie Mouse earring set for $40. It has several different pairs of studs, some with dangly gold chains.

How cute are these earrings?!

And if you want a necklace to match, check out the Mickey Mouse Heart Necklace for $55. It has that classic heart shape with the pattern of Mickey’s pants. How cute!

There’s even a matching necklace!

And don’t forget about the new Alice in Wonderland Dooney & Bourke bags that arrived this week! We shared pictures and details of the bags a few days ago.

The Emporium

Across the street, we got a few new items in The Emporium this week. We started out with the new Mickey Balloon Bubble Wand, which changes colors as it lights up. It was $26.99 and we also spotted it in World of Disney at Disney Springs!

This thing is seriously fun!

We also found a shirt that perfectly describes our feelings about Disney World. The “My Happy Place” tee is perfect for all you die-hard Disney fans out there, and you can pick it up for $36.99.

Oh Disney World, you ARE our happy place.

Later in the week, we found a new Disney Tails Dog Shirt, with Sleepy the dwarf on the front. It was fitting, considering the shirt says “Nap all day, sleep all night.” What a life! You can buy it for your pup for $24.99.

Is anyone else’s dog like this?!

This is definitely a great store to stop by for a little bit of everything! Just keep in mind that it gets really busy in here — it was fairly crowded the past few days.

Sir Mickey’s

Back in Fantasyland, we spotted some jewelry that your little Tinker Bell fans will be head over wings for! There’s an adorable bracelet stack…

Tinker Bell bracelets made just for your little one.

…as well as a cute matching necklace! Each of these accessories is $14.99. We also saw some clip-on earrings to go with the set a while back.

You can have the full ensemble!

Make sure to stop by Sir Mickey’s if you’re on the hunt for princess-y accessories. They’re fully-stocked on all things regal!

Main Street Cinema

The Main Street Cinema is home to the iconic Vault Collection merchandise these days, and several new items were added to the collection this week. First of all, we got this new red Mickey Mouse sweatshirt with yellow stripe accents. It’s $69.99, and it would be great to wear during this winter weather that Florida is getting.

A brand new sweatshirt is here!

And in addition to the sweatshirt, the Magic Kingdom park map apparel arrived a few days ago. We got park map Crocs and a park map Spirit Jersey. Main Street Cinema also got a line of HARVEYS bags that sold out incredibly quickly!

Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.

Space Mountain’s gift shop is full of all kinds of space-themed accessories, but we were delighted to find this NASA hat in there this week!

We didn’t expect to see this one!

If you’ve got an aspiring astronaut or aerospace engineer in your party, this would be a great souvenir. Pick it up for $29.99.

La Princesa de Cristal

Over by Pirates of the Caribbean, there’s usually a small merchandise cart that sells crystal, tiaras, and jewelry, but we found that. it was closed some days this week.

The cart and its nearby stands were closed.

When we walked by a couple days ago, the cart was covered up and no Cast Members were nearby. Keep in mind that it may not be open during your visit.
