PHOTOS: EPCOT Plants Covered to Prepare for Freezing Temperatures

A cold front will be moving through Central Florida starting this evening, and the National Weather Service has instituted a wind chill advisory for 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Saturday. A freeze watch is in place through Sunday morning, as temperatures could get down to near 25 degrees.

With freezing temperatures liable to kill or damage plants, Walt Disney World is preparing. Tarps have been placed over several EPCOT flower beds, including the one outside Mission: SPACE.

We also saw tarps outside Test Track.

These tarps will help protect the plants from the wind and cold.

They are snugly wrapped over the flower beds and secured.

Not every flower bed has been covered.

There were many protective tarps around the Imagination! Pavilion.

Even hedges have been wrapped.

The cold weather has also forced Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon to close again.
