2 Rides Enter, 1 Ride Leaves! 13,000 Readers Picked the BEST Disney World Rides

This won’t come as a shock, but Disney World is FILLED with iconic attractions, events, restaurants, snacks, and of course, RIDES!

Pirates of the Caribbean

And one surefire way to make rides even more fun is by comparing them to each other and asking our readers to choose their faves!

Flight of Passage or Smugglers Run. Toy Story Mania or Space Ranger Spin. it’s a small world or Peter Pan’s Flight. These are the kinds of CRUCIAL decisions we like to think about.

Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

So for our next round of Disney-style “this or that,” we took to Instagram to ask YOU which were your favorites in this heated showdown of iconic Disney World rides!

Sunset Boulevard Smackdown

For BIG thrills in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, it doesn’t get any better than the two beloved attractions anchoring Sunset Boulevard: Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror.

But which reigns SUPREME? In this impressively close call, Tower of Terror took the prize with 56% of the votes, proving that a majority of you prefer plummeting down an elevator shaft to zooming along to Aerosmith songs!

Disney Princess Ride Faceoff

Though lacking in adrenaline-pumping thrills, leisurely dark rides set to Disney princess tunes is a tried-and-true Disney tradition, and two of the most beloved are EPCOT’s Frozen Ever After and Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid in Magic Kingdom!

@disneyfoodblog on Instagram

Not a huge surprise here considering just how popular Frozen Ever After was long after opening back in 2016. Most of you prefer snow and ice over tropical sea caves, evidently, because Frozen Ever After emerged victorious with 56% of the votes! Perhaps Ursula is just a little too convincing at looking scary (or maybe you Maelstrom fans are still showing love for the Norway boat ride!).

Battle of Adventureland Icons

Speaking of leisurely nostalgic boat rides, they don’t get much more iconic than the two top rides in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland. Pirates of the Caribbean and Jungle Cruise have not only both been turned into live-action movies, but they’re beloved for their animatronics and enduring whimsy!

@disneyfoodblog on Instagram

WHOA. In a rather huge blowout victory, Pirates of the Caribbean successfully sunk Jungle Cruise, earning 79% of the Insta votes! We love Pirates too but we also heart some cheesy dad jokes, so we’re not sure how to feel about this one!

Mountain vs. Mountain

When it comes to mountain-themed coasters in Disney World, you’ve got more to choose from than you think. But, at the end of the day, Animal Kingdom’s Expedition Everest and Magic Kingdom’s Big Thunder Mountain are two of the most popular. So it all just boils down to whether you’d prefer to careen through the Alps or whirl by dino bones and canyons!

@disneyfoodblog on Instagram

Big Thunder definitely skews a liiiiiiittle more family-friendly while Everest is a “thrill-seekers only need apply” type situation. The thrill-seekers must have come out to vote on this one! With its impressive technology, a backward route, and slightly scary Yeti-theming (plus all those fun disco lights at the end 🤣), Expedition Everest got most of the votes, with 64% to 36% for Big Thunder Mountain!

Fantasyland Fav FIGHT

When it’s nostalgia and magic you’re after, you’d be hard-pressed to find an area in all of Disney World steeped in Magic and fantasy that, well, Fantasyland — even if that means it’s constantly packed with strollers and foot traffic!

@disneyfoodblog on Instagram

The two classic OG attractions here, it’s a small world and Peter Pan’s Flight, still command quite the following for their slow-paced travels through music and adorable scenes. But most of you would opt to soar (very briefly — this ride is SHORT!) over London than float amidst a sea of singing children, as Peter Pan’s Flight got 64% of the votes! The earworm theme song on small world is too much for some of y’all, huh? Or is it the dolls? Those EYES. 😉

The Most Popular Roller Coaster of Them All?

In terms of wildly popular rides that command the longest wait times, Slinky Dog Dash and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train are some of the most in-demand in their respective parks. So let’s settle this once and for all!

@disneyfoodblog on Instagram

TBH this one surprised us! It was a close one, but Seven Dwarfs edged out Slinky with 55% of the votes, which goes to show that the enduring magic of Snow White is no match for even the most impressive Toy Story contraption!

Speaking of Toy Story

Slinky Dog Dash certainly isn’t the ONLY Toy Story attraction worth ranking! Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kingdom and Toy Story Mania in Disney’s Hollywood Studios are both interactive rides that deserve a spot on any “must-do” list for Disney World vacationers!

@disneyfoodblog on Instagram

But if you absolutely MUST trim the fat and choose only one, it’s clear that Toy Story Mania is your ride of choice, earning a whopping 80% of the vote. We still have fond (err, not so fond?) memories of the HUSTLE that was rope dropping and power walking to Toy Story Mania for an elusive paper FastPass back in the day. It was THAT big of a deal for a long time. Sorry, Buzz.

The King of Outer Space

Between Galaxy’s Edge and Pandora, Disney World has plenty of attractions that take guests on a voyage to other planets! So the question is: would you rather pilot the Millennium Falcon or form a bond with a banshee?

@disneyfoodblog on Instagram

The answer, without question, is the latter. Flight of Passage blew Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run out of the sky with 76% of the votes! No wonder that ride always has SUCH a long line!

Sivako!

So there you have it! Another round of Disney-style “this or thats” is in the bag, but stay tuned on our Instagram for more fun rankings to come!
