Ranking ALL the 50th Anniversary Treats in Animal Kingdom

Disney World’s 50th anniversary brought us a TON of new food items!

The fairest cone of them all?

And some of those items are a bit wild — like a drink with an octopus tentacle and a giant martini glass filled with ice cream and topped with a Mickey pretzel. Disney is truly going all out for its big birthday! And, the food is spread out across the 4 theme parks, so you can try special items at all of them. We’ve tried a lot of these new items at Animal Kingdom since the 50th anniversary kicked off, and now it’s time to give you our rankings!

18. Firefly Appletini

The Firefly Appletini from Restaurantosaurus Lounge is made with Stolichnaya Vodka, DeKuyper Pucker Sour Apple Liqueur, sweet-and-sour, lime juice, a sugar rim, and it’s served with a glow cube (of course). This drink was a BIG yikes for us!

Booooo!

It was WAY too sour, and it was also somehow too sweet at the same time? It tasted like drinking a green Jolly Rancher but someone dumped a bunch of alcohol in it. That might sound like a good idea to some people, but it was just too sour to handle. Also, this was $16 and very small — save your money or spend it on another, better drink!

17. Birthday Blueberry Muffin

This Birthday Blueberry Muffin is a House-Made Blueberry Muffin with a surprise addition of Colorful Sprinkles. There’s not much to say here, it’s just a standard blueberry muffin, but it has sprinkles. The sprinkles are kinda fun, but overall this is a pretty boring treat compared to other things on this list.

Nothing special

You can get it at the ACE Mobile Treats cart in Pandora for $4.25 if you want to try it for yourself!

16. Scar’s Lair & Lion’s Lair

These are both Dole Whip Pineapple topped with a sour-apple flavored syrup, except the Lion’s Lair has the addition of Parrot Bay Coconut Rum. However, we felt like we barely got any rum in ours, so that was disappointing. Like the Firefly Appletini, this was also WAY too sour! The green apple flavor completely overpowered the Dole whip, so it was pretty much all we could taste.

Lion’s Lair

It was also very sugary, so it felt like we were just drinking candy, but if that’s your thing — go for it! The only reason this is making it above the muffin is because it’s still Dole Whip, so we can’t discount that. The Scar’s Lair is $5.49 and the Lion’s Lair is $10 and both treats are at Tamu Tamu.

15. 50th Anniversary Celebration Milk Shake

The Celebration Milk Shake is a vanilla milkshake with strawberry syrup, a buttercream rim, whipped cream topping, and a sugar cookie coated with crunchy bits of fruit-flaked cereal.

50th Celebration Milkshake

This is a LOT of sugar, especially with the strawberry syrup. And, it’s a really heavy drink, so it’s not refreshing. But, if you have a major sweet tooth, you’ll probably like this! You can get it for $8.99 at Restaurantosaurus.

14. EARidescent Firefly

The EARidescent Firefly is pineapple juice, Powerade Mountain Berry Blast, a splash of Sprite, and is garnished with pineapple “ears” and a glow cube — it’s non-alcoholic. This drink was very sweet, but did have a nice tartness to it. If you don’t love sweet drinks though, this is not for you!

EARidescent Firefly

If there had been an alcoholic version of this drink, we think it could’ve been better because the alcohol would’ve cut through some of that sweetness. But, the pineapple ears are super fun! They’re dried pineapple, which isn’t what we were expecting, but we liked them. This drink is $8.49 and you can get it at Flame Tree Barbecue.

13. Golden Savannah

The Golden Savannah is a Frozen Matcha Frappe topped with Whipped Cream and EARidescent Green and Gold Sprinkles. It’s one of the four different Joffrey’s drinks created specifically for the four Disney World parks!

Golden Savannah

This was a very refreshing drink and we loved the how well it went with the whipped cream! But, if you aren’t a fan of matcha, you probably won’t like this since matcha is a pretty strong flavor. You can get it at the Joffrey’s cart in front of the Animal Kingdom entrance or at Royal Anandapur Tea Company for $6.39.

12. Colossal Mickey Cinnamon Roll

The Colossal Mickey Cinnamon Roll has received a bright blue makeover for the 50th! This is just the normal Colossal Mickey Cinnamon Roll but with blue icing, so it didn’t really stand out to us.

Colossal Mickey Cinnamon Roll

However, our cinnamon roll did have more icing and tasted a little fresher than the regular one, so that was nice! Get it at Creature Comforts for $7.49.

11. 50th Anniversary Celebration Cupcake

This cupcake is a lemon-filled lemon cupcake with vanilla frosting topped with a Mickey and 50th medallion. This was a VERY lemony cupcake! But, the flavor didn’t taste artificial at all.

50th Celebration Cupcake

You have to be a big lemon fan to enjoy this treat! If not, the cupcake probably isn’t for you. You can get this cupcake at Creature Comforts for $5.99!

10. Smoked Meatloaf Platter

The Smoked Meatloaf Platter has barbecue-glazed house-smoked meatloaf, garlic bread, fries, baked beans, and coleslaw. But, when we ordered our platter, we were given fries, macaroni and cheese, and chili as our sides instead. We’re not sure why, but we weren’t mad about it!

A meatloaf that even non-meatloaf people will love

This was very tasty — even our reporter who isn’t a meatloaf fan enjoyed this one, and the sides were great. So, if you do like meatloaf, definitely still check this one out! And, if you’re a meatloaf fan, you’re going to love this. Get it at Flame Tree Barbecue for $13.99.

9. 50th Celebration Rainbow Popcorn

Two new popcorn mixes were released for the 50th in Animal Kingdom. The first is the 50th Celebration Rainbow Popcorn Mix, which is fruit flavored and sweet. It’s nothing too special, but it is a nice sweet and crunchy snack!

Now that is COLORFUL!

It has the flavor of Trix cereal or fruit loops. We thought the colors were fun, but it definitely still has that artificial taste you can get from these kinds of fruit flavors. You can get it with the popcorn bucket at the popcorn cart right by Animal Kingdom’s new show, KiteTails, for $12.

8. Hand-dipped 50th Celebration Mickey’s Premium Bar

The 50th Celebration Mickey’s Premium Bar is a Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar that is hand-dipped in a blue raspberry-flavored coating with celebration sprinkles and pixie dust!

Mickey got a makeover!

This was a really fun spin on a classic Disney World treat. At first, the blue raspberry flavor was kind of weird with the chocolate, but as we kept eating, we think they actually went well together! You can grab this at Drinkwallah for $6.69.

7. 50th Celebration Mickey Mouse Dome

The 50th Celebration Mickey Mouse Dome is a chocolate brownie base with gold-dusted chocolate sprinkles, and birthday cake-flavored mousse with gold-dusted Mickey ears and a gold-dusted 50th Anniversary medallion. So, there’s a lot going on here!

50th Celebration Mickey Mouse Dome at Creature Comforts in Disney’s Animal Kingdom

The birthday cake mousse was a delicious and fun flavor that went SO well with the chocolate cake. And, we thought it was fitting that they were using birthday flavors to celebrate Disney World’s big birthday! Of the new offerings at Creature Comforts for the 50th, this was our favorite, but it’s still not the best treat on this list. Grab it for $5.99!

6. Chili-Lime Caramel Corn Mix

The Chili-Lime Caramel Corn Mix was the second new popcorn mix released for the 50th and it is SO GOOD! This one was also sweet, but that sweetness mixed with the spice of the chili worked really well.

Chili Lime Caramel Corn Mix

The chili and lime flavors were subtle though — we actually kind of wanted more! But, we got a good taste of that sweet caramel, which was really tasty. This mix is also $12 with the popcorn bucket and is at the popcorn cart right by KiteTails.

5. Corn Chip Pie with Walt’s Chili

This snack is corn chips covered in Walt’s favorite chili, cheddar, sour cream, and green onions. Jalapeños aren’t listed in the description, but our pie came with a few on top!

A thing of beauty!

Uh, YUM! This was so good. Honestly, it’s not much different from the regular corn chip pie you can usually get here, but who doesn’t love corn chip pie?! The spice from the jalapeños was great and the chili is really tasty, we even wish there had been more of it! This snack was very appreciated among the vast array of sweet, artificially colored treats that we’ve been trying, so it was a winner for us! You can get this at Dino Diner for $8.49.

4. KiteTails Sundae

This is strawberry and lemon-flavored soft-serve swirled together and topped with a white chocolate medallion. This sundae was super refreshing and delicious! The fruity flavor is great for a hot day.

KiteTails Sundae

The strawberry soft-serve was thicker and sweeter, while the lemon soft-serve had a great tartness to it, and they went really well together! It was very creamy and had the right balance of being sweet and tart. We loved it! You can get this sundae over at Anandapur Ice Cream Truck for $5.49

Click here to see our full review for the KiteTails Sundae!

3. Firefly Margarita

The Firefly Margarita is made with Casamigos Reposado Tequila, ancho reyes liqueur, lime juice, simple syrup, and pineapple juice. This is such a pretty color!

It’s so green!

It may look innocent enough, but this thing has a KICK! It’s pretty spicy due to that chili liqueur. But, we LOVED this! It was refreshing and unique, and we definitely needed something different after having so many super sweet treats. This margarita is on the menu at Nomad Lounge, Thirsty River Bar, and Dawa Bar for $16.

2. 50th Celebration Chili Dog

The 50th Celebration Chili Dog is grilled sausage topped with venison chili and pickles, so it’s like a fancier version of a chili dog. It comes as two mini dogs instead of one big one.

50th Celebration Chili Dog

These were absolutely amazing! The sausages are a little spicy, but the rolls they’re in are sweet, so the combo works perfectly. We got a little spice from the chili too. We love this twist on an American classic, it’s so creative! These are available at Nomad Lounge for $14 and are a great snack to have while hanging out on the porch with a nice cocktail!

1. 50th Celebration Ice Cream Sandwich

Finally, we have our number one pick! It’s the 50th Celebration Ice Cream Sandwich. This is Vanilla Ice Cream sandwiched between two House-Made Double Chocolate Chip Cookies, dunked in glittery Celebration Sprinkles and topped with a 50th Anniversary Medallion. Even though it comes with vanilla ice cream, you can actually choose whatever flavor you want! They have vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry.

50th Celebration Ice Cream Sandwich

This was just *chef’s kiss* — the balance of the vanilla ice cream and super chocolatey cookies was amazing. And, the sprinkles made it extra fun and festive. We loveeee chocolate, so those double chocolate chip cookies were a big hit with us! How can you go wrong with house-made cookies, ice cream, and sprinkles?! This might seem pretty ordinary, but we disagree! It’s the perfect treat to celebrate the 50th anniversary — try it out for yourselves! You can find it at Dino-Bite Snacks for $6.99.
