All the Hotels and Rides That Will Be Closed in Disney World Next Week!

It can be tricky to keep up with all of Disney World’s projects and refurbishments.

Mickey’s PhilharMagic is Closed right now

Attractions, rides, and hotels might be closed for various reasons around the parks, and you’ll want to know what’s not available during your upcoming trip. We’re taking a look here at everything that will be closed in Disney World next week.

Let’s start in the parks!

Magic Kingdom Closures

The Magic Kingdom has a couple of attractions that won’t be available at all next week.

Fantasyland

Mickey’s PhilharMagic is currently closed, since Imagineers are busy installing the new scene inspired by Disney’s Coco to the attraction.

PhilharMagic Construction

PhilharMagic is scheduled to reopen on November 12th. So we won’t be seeing the show this week, but its opening isn’t too far off.

The Walt Disney World Railroad is also closed, but this attraction does not have a reopening date yet.

Fantasyland Train Station

Construction on the TRON Lightcycle Run ride interrupted the train tracks over in Tomorrowland, so we likely won’t see the railroad reopen until TRON construction finishes. Disney hasn’t announced an opening date for TRON, but we’re estimating it’ll be sometime next year.

We saw recently that the railroad’s closure extends at least into January 2022.

EPCOT Closures

Over in EPCOT, a gift shop in World Showcase called Souk-al-Magreb (located in the Morocco pavilion) is still closed for refurbishments as well.

It’ll open soon!

This shop is scheduled to reopen on November 6th, which isn’t far off! And the Canada Far and Wide film attraction remains closed, since the Appleseed Orchard booth for the Food & Wine Festival is currently using that space.

Watching Canada Far and Wide

We’re expecting the attraction in Canada to reopen when the festival closes later in November, but it’s not currently showing any running times even after the festival ends.

Animal Kingdom Closures

A popular ride in Animal Kingdom is going to close on Monday, November 1st.

Kali River Rapids Entrance

Kali River Rapids will have a two-month-long refurbishment, lasting through November and December of this year.

The water ride will reopen on January 1st, 2022.

Disney World Hotel Closures

Several Disney World hotels have at least partial closures this week, but only one hotel remains completely closed: Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort.

All-Star Sports Entrance

This resort was scheduled to reopen in December, but its return was delayed due to more refurbishments. So far Disney has not yet announced a new reopening date.

Another All-Star hotel, Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, still has some construction going on in the lobby, but it shouldn’t interrupt your stay too much.

Other desks are still open in the lobby, so you can continue to check in like normal here. Or you can use the My Disney Experience app to check in online and head straight to your room when you arrive.

When Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside Resort reopened recently, the Boatwright’s Dining Hall restaurant did not reopen with it.

According to a Cast Member at the hotel, Boatwright’s will likely open sometime in December. In the mean time, you can check out other Riverside restaurants or head over to the newly reopened Port Orleans – French Quarter to find even more options.

Finally, refurbishments on some rooms at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort will begin this week, as Disney converts 200 guest rooms into Disney Vacation Club villas.

The rooms in Building 9 of the Grand Floridian will be re-done to become DVC villas, which will open sometime in the summer of 2022.
