Review: Disneyland’s Grey Stuff Dressed Up For Halloween!

We’re at the Disneyland Resort today checking out all of the newest Halloween offerings, including a ton of their seasonal snacks! We already checked out their Trick-or-Treat Sundae and the Pumpkin Cheesecake Funnel Cake, and now we’re heading over to Fantasyland to dine at Red Rose Taverne!

Mickey Pumpkin at Disneyland

As the name implies, Red Rose Taverne is inspired by Beauty and the Beast, and this is where you’ll find the famous Grey Stuff! This fall, however, the iconic Disney dessert is taking on a Halloween twist!

This year, Red Rose Taverne is offering the Halloween Grey Stuff, which takes their Traditional Grey Stuff (which is a White Chocolate Cookies and Cream Mousse and Red Velvet Cake with a Raspberry Center) and cranks the “spook factor” up a notch with a Tombstone Cookie and Halloween Sprinkles.

For reference, here’s what the Grey Stuff at Red Rose Taverne normally looks like when it’s not dressed up for Halloween:

Looks the same to us; just slightly less spooky!

We’re constantly told to try the Grey Stuff  (because apparently, “It’s delicious!“), so when we saw that there was a Halloween version available this fall, we knew we had to order one. The tombstone told us to “Dig in,” so we did just that!

It’s like if ‘Beauty and the Beast’ met ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’

We were hoping to taste something a little bit different, but this tasted exactly like the regular Grey Stuff with the added component of the shortbread Tombstone Cookie. That’s not necessarily a bad thing; the Grey Stuff has plenty of fans out there that will be glad to know that their favorite Beauty and the Beast-themed dessert is in tact. We would have just liked a little more variety for Halloween!

Still, this is a fun treat to check out for $6.49 if you’re a fan of Beauty and the Beast and you’re looking for something unique to try this Halloween season. We’ll continue to make our way through the Disneyland Resort to try the latest fall treats, so be sure to follow along!
