Review: Disney World, Are You SURE This Is a Halloween Cocktail?

Halloween is just around the corner! Tonight, Disney After Hours BOO Bash kicks off and frightfully fun decor has already arrived in Disney World!

Happy Halloween!

While we are admiring the decorations, merchandise, and FOOD that comes along with this time of year, there’s something more sinister afoot in the parks. And, you’re going to have to head to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to find out all the details!

If you’re ready to kick off your Halloween season with something sweet, then you might want to try one cocktail in Disney World…that is, if you dare! The Sweet Poison drink is available at Oasis Canteen, Sunshine Day Bar, and Animation Bar in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The drink has been brewed up with coconut rum, blue Curaçao beverage syrup, rum, and pineapple juice.

It also features a glow cube and a lemon wedge for a dangerously great combination! For now, it’s being served with a regular glow cube. But, from what we understand it will be served with an apple glow cube when those arrive!

Sweet Poison Cocktail

There was a drink called Sweet Poison that was offered as Oasis Canteen back in 2019, but that one featured entirely different ingredients like vanilla vodka, Fireball, apple cider, and a cinnamon stick.

While the name of the current drink still implies something in the Halloween theme, the ingredients in this year’s Sweet Poison drink threw us for a bit of a loop since it had MUCH more of a tropical twist than anything spooky. The flavors were extremely sweet (no surprise there), and the coconut, pineapple, and blue curaçao stood out the most. You couldn’t really taste the alcohol though. If you like fruity rum drinks where you can’t really even taste the alcohol, then this might be a good fit for you. If you like drinks that aren’t as sweet, or where you can taste the alcohol more then this is probably not for you!

Sweet Poison Cocktail

After seeing some of the other Halloween themed snacks and sips around the parks, the Sweet Poison didn’t entirely fit the Fall vibe. We know that we’re starting to celebrate Halloween a little bit early (it is only August after all), but we think there could have been more of a shift away from the summer flavors in the Sweet Poison. The Sunshine Day Bar did not have the poison apple glow cubes yet when we visited, so maybe that addition will help this drink feel a bit more spooky.

Then again, we are starting to celebrate Halloween in the middle of the hot Florida summer, so maybe this drink is a perfect reflection of that — spooky on the outside (in terms of its name) but summery on the inside!

No Poison Apple Glow Cube

The Sweet Poison does have a GORGEOUS color that will pop in your Instagram photos. And fans of fruity drinks can end their summer on a high note before going full Halloween mode with this cocktail. You can try the Sweet Poison for yourself now through October 31st for $14.
