The 2021 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival has been going on for months now, but just recently a few new things became available at the festival!

Many of the food booths opened with the festival back in July, and we ate our way through all of those already. The other nine booths were supposed to open on October 1st, the start of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, but instead opened early this weekend! Today we’re stopping by one of the latest arrivals — the India booth — for some returning items and a few NEW drinks!

Menu

At the India booth, you’ll find three returning food items and a number of beverages including two NEW ones!

While the booth wasn’t available for the 2020 Taste of EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, fans of its dishes will likely be thrilled to see this booth is available again this year! Let’s dive into the options!

Food

First, we’ve got the returning Warm Indian Bread with Pickled Garlic, Mango Salsa, and Coriander Pesto Dips. We know what you’re thinking, and we are right there with you! Bread service, HERE WE COME!

We thought this dish was very delicious. It was a scaled-down version of the Indian-Style Bread Service you can get from Sanaa, but still pretty good. Our favorite dip was the pickled garlic. Vampires beware — this one is very heavy on the garlic. If you aren’t a huge garlic fan, you may want to try the other two dips.

Our second favorite was the Coriander Pesto. This dip had a surprising amount of heat to it, but was very delicious.

Our least favorite of the three was still good, but just ended up in last place this time. The Mango Salsa was refreshing and had a little bit of sweetness to it. The sweetness helped cut the heavy garlic and spice of the other two dips which paired very nicely! You can grab this dish for $5.

Next, we have the Korma Chicken with Basmati Rice, Crispy Chickpeas, and Spiced Yogurt Sauce. This is slightly different than the version that was at the booth in 2019 and in some previous years, as that other version of the dish featured a cucumber tomato salad, almonds, and cashews.

This dish was another winner! The crispy chickpeas on top really took this dish to another level. We also really loved the spiced yogurt sauce drizzled on top. It added a nice refreshing component to the dish.

We haven’t seen chickpeas served like this and thought it was unique! If you’re a big Korma Chicken fan, you can stop by the India booth to check it out. This dish is gluten/wheat friendly and is priced at $5.25.

Finally, the last food item at the India booth is the Madras Red Curry with Roasted Cauliflower, Baby Carrots, Chickpeas, and Ben’s Original Basmati Rice. This curry actually made our best of the fest list in 2019.

While this one typically has been one of our favorites, it did fall short today. It was not bad by any means, but was not our favorite dish at the booth. The rice was good and the garbanzo beans were cooked well, but we found ourselves wanting a little more flavor out of this dish.

This item is gluten/wheat friendly and is also plant-based. You can try it for $5.

Drinks

Now, it’s time to get to the drinks. This location offers one non-alcoholic beverage — the Mango Lassi! This one has made our best of the fest several times, and we love it! It also comes in an alcoholic version with Sōmrus Chai Cream Liqueur.

We also tried the new Sula Brut Tropicale Sparkling Wine. 

This drink was really fun and refreshing! We found it sweet but not sugary with a very low-profile fruity taste to it. Very good, especially on a hot day with some spicy food!

Overall

In the past, this booth has had some members of the best of the fest, so we had some high hopes for the items on the menu, because bread service, am I right?! While we have typically loved the Madras Curry the stand-out this year was the Korma Chicken with those crispy chickpeas! The sparkling wine was refreshing, but nothing to go out of your way for, and did we mention that you can’t go wrong with bread service! It wasn’t quite as good as Sanaa, but still fun!
