How to Use Disneyland’s NEW Magic Key Pass System

Disneyland just announced a NEW annual pass program called Magic Key!

Disneyland!

Magic Key is taking the place of the former annual pass program that Disneyland announced they were discontinuing earlier this year. We have details on the pricing and tiers as well as when they’ll be released, but let’s talk about HOW to use the new Magic Key program!

In order to use your Magic Key to go to Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure, you must have a theme park reservation in addition to a valid Magic Key pass. Here are the steps you need to follow:

1. Access the Calendar

The first step to using your Magic Key is to access the calendar. You need to check the Magic Key access calendar, which will show admission and blockout dates for your pass as well as current park reservation availability.

You can see which Magic Keys have blockout dates here.

2. Make a Reservation

The second step is to make a reservation! Make sure you’re signed into your Disney account and your Magic Key ID is linked (which is the 18-digit number you receive upon purchase). Then, go to Park Reservations to start the reservation process. Pick the date and park you want to visit from what’s available. You can make reservations for one park only OR both parks, depending on availability.

If you choose both parks, you can pick which park to start your day at and can switch between parks beginning at 1PM that same day, depending on capacity. You HAVE to enter the first park that you made a reservation for that day before going to the other park.

California Adventure

Right now, a park reservation for your second park is NOT required after visiting your first park of the day, but it will still depend on if the second park you’re trying to visit has reached its capacity limit.

3. Review and Confirm Your Visit

The third and final step is to look over your theme park reservation and agree to the Terms & Conditions (including the COVID-19 liability waiver) and then hit “Confirm” to complete your park reservation. You need to provide an email address to receive your reservation confirmation.

When arriving at the theme park you’re visiting, present your Magic Key pass in the Disneyland app to enter the park.

That’s how you use the new Magic Key pass system! Remember, the passes go on sale on August 25th. Stay tuned to DFB for more news and updates!
