How To Cancel Your Disney World Hotel Reservation

Whether you’ve found a better deal at a property off-site or you’re needing to cancel your vacation altogether, sometimes you’ve got to let go of that Disney World hotel room you reserved.

Coronado Springs’ Gran Destino Tower

No, Disney’s not going to be mad at you. In fact, this happens often — and Disney has a straightforward hotel cancellation process to help you worry about one less thing.

There are two ways you can cancel your reservation: Online or by phone.

To Cancel Online:

First thing’s first — you need to log into your Disney account and click on “My Reservations.”

Disney’s Pop Century

From there, you’ll find a list of all your reservations, including the one for your Disney hotel room.

*IF* your hotel room can be canceled online (we’ll talk about that more in a sec),  you’ll see a “Cancel Reservations” link next to the reservation. Click the link.

Beach Club Resort in Disney World

The site will ask you a couple more security/double-check-and-make-sure-you-really-want-this questions before proceeding with the cancellation.

To Cancel By Phone

In some cases, you won’t see the “Cancel Reservations” tab pop up next to your hotel reservation online. Instead, you’ll see a message telling you to turn to plan B — call on your handy-dandy phone.

Pop Century!

To make a cancellation via phone, call 407-934-7639. A Cast Member will guide you through the cancellation process from there.

All-Star Movies Resort Pool

If a guest is under the age of 18, they’ll need a parent or guardian’s permission to call.

Cancellation Fees

Depending on the situation, you may have to pay a cancellation fee. Because of Disney World’s closure in 2020, cancellation fees used to be more flexible. However, this new cancellation policy expired at the end of April 2021. Now, Disney’s cancellation policies look very similar — if not exactly the same — to how they did pre-closure.

Wilderness Lodge Renovated Rooms

If you cancel your reservation 30 days before your scheduled arrival, you don’t need to worry about a hotel cancellation fee.

If you cancel 2 to 29 days before your scheduled arrival, you’ll be charged a $200 cancellation fee.

If you cancel 1 day out OR you’re a no-show (psst — try not to do this), you will be charged the full amount for the room.

Caribbean Beach

If you check into your hotel and have to leave early, you will still need to pay the full amount for all the days you reserved.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Do you still have specific questions or unique circumstances that you can’t find addressed in the cancellation policies on the Disney World website? It’s always good to make that call and double-check with a Cast Member. Just keep in mind that phone lines can get SUPER busy — especially around the parks’ peak seasons. So plan ahead!
