PHOTOS: Another Building Structure Removed From the Jungle Cruise in Disney World

We’re back with ANOTHER update on the Jungle Cruise!

Jungle Cruise

In case ya missed it, the Jungle Cruise in both Disney World and Disneyland is getting a pretty extensive reimagining. And while the Disneyland ride is temporarily closed for the project, the Magic Kingdom version is staying OPEN! That means we’ve been hopping aboard constantly to bring you the latest progress. And today, we spotted another change.

Yesterday, we noticed that animatronics depicting natives had been removed from a scene where they used to dance and “throw spears” at guests. However, while the figures were gone, the structure remained.

Here’s what it looked like yesterday!

Today, though, we noticed that the whole building had been removed! What’s left of the scene is now covered.

The whole structure is gone now!

Here’s a closer look! Disney hasn’t announced what will be installed here instead, but we’ll keep an eye out.

A Closer Look

Recently, Disney also removed the Trader Sam scene from the ride, and added a replacement in which the classic character is running a gift shop. This all comes after Disney stated that part of the reimagining involves addressing negative depictions of “natives.” We’ll keep checking up on the project (which is supposed to wrap up this summer) and keep ya posted, so stay tuned to DFB!
