REVIEW: You Can Eat Your Beer at This Disney World Restaurant!

It’s American Craft Beer Week, and there’s NOWHERE in Disney World we’d rather celebrate than at City Works Eatery & Pour House!

City Works in Disney Springs

This Disney Springs spot has DOZENS and DOZENS of beers available, so of course they’re doing Craft Beer Week right with some limited-time dishes!

You know we LOVE a limited edition item (though we wish some would be around forever), so we stopped by City Works to try their Stout-Braised Bison Sloppy Joe and the Crispy Pork Belly to see if these items are ones we’ll miss when they’re gone or if they’re one, well, you can miss.

City Works limited time menu

Let’s start with that Stout-Braised Bison Sloppy Joe. This sandwich is a milk stout braised ground bison with cider mustard, pickled fennel and carrots on a brioche bun. It costs $14, and City Works recommends you pair it with a Milk Stout. It came with a side of fries.

Stout braised bison sloppy joe

We enjoyed the Sloppy Joe, but well, we wished it were a bit SLOPPIER! The flavor from the bison was really unique, with a bit of sweetness, but bison meat is a but leaner than traditional ground beef, so the sandwich was a little too dry. The carrots and fennel were not super flavorful, but did add some much-needed crunch, and there was just the teeniest amount of mustard on the bottom bun. If they made this sloppier with more sauce and more mustard, it would be awesome. But as-is, we’re mildly underwhelmed.

Not very sloppy…

Now, it’s time for the Crispy Pork Belly, which was our favorite of the two items! This features braised pork bellycheddar green onion grits, roasted Brussels sprouts, and a stout maple glaze. It’s also $14. This dish is perfect for sharing, mainly due to the cheddar green onion grits, which were creamy, savory, and SO  filling. And the crunchy Brussels sprouts played well against the creamy grits. We just wanted MORE of them!

Crispy Pork Belly

As for that pork belly, it was cooked perfectly, and it was very flavorful. Even against the super flavorful grits, they held their own.

PERFECT Pork Belly!

If you’re all-in on American Craft Beer Week, the Sloppy Joe has a deeper beer flavor but both are fun dishes! And both would go best with dark beer, stouts and porters so be sure to pair them with a nice, cold one! These special beer dishes are available through May 16th, so better get to Disney Springs! We’re ALWAYS spotting new limited time dishes around Disney World, and when we find more, you know we’ll let you know how they are so you can see if they’re worth your time when you’re on vacation!
