REVIEW: Disney World’s Raglan Road Knows How to Celebrate World Whiskey Day!

We’re at Disney Springs today for an extra-festive event!

Disney Springs

World Whiskey Day is May 15th, and of course, Raglan Road is celebrating! We’ve seen this Irish pub host other events — like a St. Patrick’s Day festival — so we’re not surprised to see them ringing in this unique holiday. And of course, we had to go check out all the fun for ourselves!

Raglan Road’s Whiskey Day celebrations are taking place from May 12th through 15th. As part of the event, you can try a flight of four different limited-release whiskeys from around the world for $25! And while you’re there, you can enjoy Irish food, specialty beers, and live entertainment. Sounds like a party, right?!

Menu!

We started out with one of the specialty libations called the Rosemary Maple Whiskey Sour. This drink is made from Dickel 12 Tennessee Whiskey, crushed rosemary, dark maple syrup, egg white, and lemon sour.

Now you KNOW we had to try those limited-release whiskeys. These whiskeys were included in the $25 World Whiskey Day Flight!

As with other flights in Disney World, this whiskey flight was a great way to try different types of whiskey! You get 4 whiskeys in this flight — an Irish, American, Japanese, and Scotch.

Whiskey Flight Menu

We liked the American the most because of the spice. Each of the whiskeys was SO different from one another, which we thought was pretty cool. These whiskeys are not easy to find, so we recommend taking advantage of this flight while it’s around! Raglan Road told us that the flight was around through Saturday, so head over there by then to try these out.

Whiskey Flight

We were able to try 2 starters, 2 entrees, and 2 desserts at this whiskey-themed event! We kicked off the eats with the Whiskey BBQ Glazed Chicken Lollipops.

These savory lollipops are served with roasted corn & bacon crumble with a corn puree.

Chicken Lollipops

These lollipops are incredible! This is an item that’s already on the full-time menu, and for good reason! The bacon crumble is super crunchy and adds a nice texture to the dish. There is a nice mix of sweetness and smokiness from the corn which enhances the flavor of the bacon and chicken. We would come back again just for these!

Chicken Lollipop

Our second starter was the Whiskey Glazed Pork Cheek! This dish is served with smoked potato terrine, apple espuma, and pork crackling crumb.

Our favorite element of this dish was the apple. The flavor popped really well and stood out in a good way. We tasted the whiskey on the pork glaze more than we could on the chicken lollipops.

Whiskey Glazed Pork Cheek

Now onto the entrees! Another whiskey-inspired dish, we tried the Whiskey Cured House Smoked Salmon served with lemon & herb crushed potatoes, pea texture, and horseradish with crispy skin.

The peas and the lemon stood out in this dish! That’s a flavor combo we didn’t know we needed but really enjoyed. The salmon was cooked well, but you certainly have to like seafood to enjoy this one. We wished the horseradish was a bit hotter than it was, but the flavor was still good!

Whiskey Cured House Smoked Salmon

The next entree was the Whiskey Braised Beef Cheek. On the side, we got triple cooked duck fat chips, whiskey & vinegar salt, mushroom ketchup, and crispy onions.

This one knocked our socks off! There is a huge amount of flavor and texture in the beef cheek, and it was so soft. We didn’t pick up on too much duck fat flavor from the chips, but the ketchup was delicious. We wish mushroom ketchup was served at more restaurants because we would almost always dip our fries in it!

Whiskey Braised Beef Cheek

And finally we tried a couple of desserts! First up is the Apple Baked Dumplings served with whiskey butterscotch Jameson sauce and milk ice cream.

This dessert is FILLING. Especially after a Raglan Road meal, you’ll probably want to split these. They are warm and just the right amount of sweet — a great way to end a meal here!

Apple Baked Dumplings

Last but not least, we tried the Whiskey Chocolate Caramel Brownie with Guinness marshmallow and graham cracker crunch.

Whiskey Chocolate Caramel Brownie

If you are a caramel fan, this is a MUST. We didn’t taste too much of the Guinness, but it could be because the brownie and caramel flavors overshadowed it. The brownie was super moist and we really had no complaints about this dessert!

Overall, this is a HUGE hit for whiskey fans! Each dish incorporates whiskey in some way, and this limited menu is pretty unique! Again, it you’re itching to take part in this celebration, it’s going on from May 12th through the 15th. Happy World Whiskey Day! We’ll keep ya posted with plenty more Disney news, so stay tuned to DFB.
