Jeff Vahle, President of Walt Disney World Resort, has confirmed on his Instagram account that the refurbishment of the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover is nearly finished and the attraction will be reopening later this weekend! Previously, the PeopleMover was scheduled to return on May 1.
The PeopleMover closed back in March 2020 before Walt Disney World closed due to the pandemic. When Magic Kingdom reopened in July 2020, the PeopleMover remained closed. The refurbishment dealt with a few delays over the past couple months, but a recent conversation with a Cast Member confirmed they were on track to hit their May 1 reopening date.
