All the Rides CLOSED in Disney World for Refurbishment Next Week

Disney World has quite a few construction projects going on right now!

Main Street, U.S.A.

If you’re planning a trip to Disney World, you’ll want to know exactly how this work will affect your vacation. So today, we’re bringing you our weekly refurbishment update for May 3rd through 9th.

Magic Kingdom Refurbishments

Hall of Presidents

The Hall of Presidents has been closed for quite some time while an animatronic for President Joe Biden is installed! This happens every time a new U.S. President is elected.

The Hall of Presidents

The show closed for refurbishment in January, and Disney has not yet announced a reopening date. But we’ll let you know as soon as we hear!

Walt Disney World Railroad

Meanwhile, the Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed for over 2 YEARS! Construction on TRON: Lightcycle Run is currently blocking its path through Tomorrowland, so it remains temporarily unavailable.

That TRON construction is likely delayed, which means the Railroad probably won’t open back up for a while. The TRON work will have to clear up quite a bit before the classic train can reopen. We’ll keep ya in the loop if we hear any news!

Main Street Confectionery

The Main Street Confectionery closed in April for a pretty long time — its refurbishment is lasting well into the summer! As of now, the location is no longer on Disney’s refurbishment list starting July 4th. However, that date is subject to change, and the closure could last even longer.

Head over to Main Street Cinema for sweet treats in the meantime!

In the meantime, Main Street Cinema is selling all of the Confectionery’s sweet treats! And elsewhere on Main Street, U.S.A., The Chapeau has closed, too.

EPCOT Refurbishments

Pin Traders

Over in EPCOT, a store is getting some TLC, too! Pin Traders, which you can find under Spaceship Earth, closed on April 20th for some minor work.

Pin Traders Construction Fences

Disney hasn’t said why Pin Traders is shuttered, but we’ll let you know if we hear! It’s likely pavement work in front of the store. It’s currently scheduled to reopen on May 7th.

Disney World Resort Refurbishments

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

At the hotels, some major changes are underway! Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is in the middle of a huge transformation: we’ll see changes to the main entrance, lobby, and monorail station.

The guest rooms are also getting a Moana retheme. And they look pretty neat, don’t they?!

Those rooms are available for reservations from July 19th forward! The rest of the projects around the hotel should wrap up around then, too.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

At Disney’s Contemporary Resort, a big refurbishment project has just kicked off! Work is being done to the Main Tower guest rooms — but while those rooms are unavailable for booking, the rest of the resort is relatively unaffected.

More construction!

We say “relatively” because if you’re visiting here, you’ll want to aware that the construction is pretty noisy. However, a Cast Member confirmed that the work is only scheduled to last through September!

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

Lastly, some construction is taking place at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort! The waterslide and splash zone at Meadow Swimmin‘ Pool are being refurbished through May.

Wilderness Lodge Slide Construction

No worries if you’re staying here! Meadow Swimmin’ Pool and Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool will both remain open throughout the closure.
