Disney’s Fantasmic! has been closed since the parks shut down in March 2020.
Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Even as the parks reopened, Disney’s live entertainment remained unavailable. Massive entertainment layoffs last fall only added to a pretty dismal situation. And while the return of the Festival of the Lion King show may give some hope, there’s been no reopening announcement for Fantasmic!. If you’ve been wondering what the theater looks like with the absence of Mickey’s nightly magic, we can now give you an update!
Twitter user @bioreconstruct shared an aerial view of Fantasmic!, and it looks like it’s still completely drained.

We’re still not completely sure why this area has remained drained for so long or if any minor construction is going on. But it is safe to say it may be a bit before our favorite classic characters return to this stage.
