Is it Just Us Or Do the Hurricane Names for 2021 Read Like a Disney+ Watch Party?

As we all know, Disney fandom certainly isn’t confined to places like Disney World and Disneyland. From bakeries to grocery stores across the country, the Disney love is EVERYWHERE.

Now it appears even the National Hurricane Center is embracing its inner Disney Princess, based on the names its chosen for the upcoming 2021 Atlantic hurricane season.

Each year, the Atlantic hurricane season starts June 1, an annual affair ALL too familiar for folks in Disney World… .

Perhaps that’s why the National Hurricane Center seems to be drawing inspiration from Disney and Marvel for some of its 2021 hurricane names!

Specifically, we’d venture to guess their favorite movie is Frozen, because two of the hurricane names are Ana and Elsa! Granted, Ana isn’t spelled like it is in the movie, but it’s close enough!

Frozen Ever After

Further down the list, rounding out the season, is the very-hot-right-now name, Wanda! Perhaps you’ve heard the name lately? Or ridden a WandaVision bus?

Elsewhere on the list, we’re just going to go ahead and assume Hurricane Peter is an homage to Peter Pan, and Hurricane Rose is a nod to Sleeping Beauty’s alias, Briar Rose.

With so much Disney influence on this year’s hurricane list, we’re hoping it’s a sign that it’ll be a…gentler season?!
