A Water Ride’s Wait Time Went WAY Up in Disney World This Week!

We’re back this week to look at the average wait times in Disney World!

Magic Kingdom

Last week, almost every single attraction’s wait time increased, and that trend ha continued this week! There is one ride in particular that shocked us with how much the wait time skyrocketed compared to last week. So, let’s dive in to this week’s average wait times in ALL four parks!

Magic Kingdom

Last week, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train had the longest wait in Magic Kingdom and in all of Disney World with 51 minutes. It continues the winning streak with 54 minutes. It’s still pretty shocking that this average is under an hour, but the average went up 3 minutes.

Other thrill rides in Magic Kingdom had pretty low waits. Space Mountain had an average wait time of 25 minutes, Splash Mountain averaging 43 minutes, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad averaged 37 minutes. Splash Mountain jumped up in time by 16 minutes! We usually see attractions fluctuate by a few, but this week alone the average skyrocketed!

Splash Mountain

Space Mountain was lower than several other attractions including Peter Pan’s Flight at 25 minutes, “it’s a small world” and Prince Charming Regal Carrousel at 29 minutes, Astro Orbiter at 30 minutes, Jungle Cruise at 35 minutes, and Pirates of the Caribbean at 36 minutes.

Other average waits in the same range include Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin with a 24-minute wait time, and Mickey’s PhilarMagic with a 19-minute wait time.

With waits in the teens, we saw The Magic Carpets of Aladdin at 14 minutes, Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid and Haunted Mansion at 15 minutes, The Barnstormer at 16 minutes, and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh at 18 minutes.

Haunted Mansion

Other attractions with really short wait times include Carousel of Progress at 5 minutes, Country Bear Jamboree at 8 minutes, Mad Tea Party and Tomorrowland Speedway at 10 minutes, and Dumbo the Flying Elephant at 11 minutes.

Dumbo

Just like the weeks before, there were a handful of attractions with zero minute wait times, including Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, and Enchanted Tiki Room. The Hall of Presidents is currently under refurbishment.

The crowds are starting to pick up a little more in Disney World, but most of these times are still not high at all. There is still not an average wait time in Disney World that is over an hour, which is rare!

EPCOT

Test Track continues to have the longest wait in EPCOT this week at 45 minutes. This wait time only went up by 1 minute since last week.

Test Track

Other popular attractions didn’t have too much of a wait like Soarin‘ and Frozen After Ever with a 24-minute wait, and Mission: SPACE with a 21-minute wait.

Mission Space

The rest of EPCOT saw super short average wait times, including Spaceship Earth and Journey Into Imagination with Figment at 11 minutes, the Seas with Nemo & Friends, the Gran Fiesta Tour, and Living with the Land at 7 minutes.

Just like past weeks, all of the films in EPCOT had a zero minute wait, which includes Disney and Pixar Short Film FestivalBeauty and the Beast Sing-AlongAwesome PlanetImpressions de France, and Reflections of China. American Adventure.

As EPCOT wait times tend to do, these attractions only fluctuated a little bit this week. The Festival of the Arts is almost over, so  the crowds are heading towards World Showcase and its activities rather than attractions. Everyone is trying to get in some festival fun before it’s onto the next one! Most attractions have fairly short wait times, but we’ll have to see how it goes in between festivals.

Looks Like EPCOT is Ready to Move On To Its Next Festival!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

This park used to win the longest wait time in all of Disney World, but the times have been much lower since the holidays! The longest wait time in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is still Twilight Zone Tower of Terror with 52 minutes. This time beat Slinky Dog Dash again who had an average of 49-minutes this week.

Slinky Dog Dash

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run was not far behind with 43 minutes. Other longer average wait times in the 30s include Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at 37 minutes, and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster averaged 30 minutes.

In the 20s range, Star Tours averaged 27 minutes, Muppet*Vision 3D and Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy averaged 25 minutes, and Toy Story Mania averaged 24 minutes.

Star Tours

Alien Swirling Saucers saw an average wait time of 21 minutes making it the lowest wait time in the park again. Keep in mind that Rise of the Resistance is not included in these numbers due to its virtual queue.

Here is what’s new in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Both attractions in Pandora — the Land of Avatar continue to dominate Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Flight of Passage averaged 33 minutes (which means it went up by 5 minutes this week), and Na’vi River Journey went up to 44 minutes, making it the longest wait time in the park yet again.

Pandora

All average wait times were pretty low throughout the park. Dinosaur had an average wait time of 20 minutes, Kilimanjaro Safaris had an average wait time of 18 minutes, Expedition Everest had an average wait time of 11 minutes, and It’s Tough to Be a Bug had an average wait time of 12 minutes.

Dinosaur

Triceratop Spin continued to have the shortest wait time in the park of 5 minutes. Kali River Rapids is currently under refurbishment.

Tree of Life

This week’s average wait times have stayed very low with the exception of the Pandora attractions! Even still, the wait times for these rides are pretty low. We hope this look at average wait times helps those of you prepping for a Disney trip soon! Stay tuned to DFB, and check for our weekly wait times next week!
