NEWS: Water Leak at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Closes Restaurants

Like all places, things happen at Disney World.

We’ve seen malfunctioning animatronics, evacuations of attractions, and attractions closed due to technical difficulties. But sometimes, problems happen at resorts, too.

Today, we learned there is currently a water leak at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. As a result, most of the resort’s dining locations are currently closed, including Kona Cafe. A Cast Member confirmed that reservations have been cancelled for the day. When we visited the location, it was closed, but we didn’t see any evidence of water anywhere.

The Barefoot Pool Bar is also currently closed. Cast Members told us that Capt. Cook’s is only open for bottled water and grab and go items.

When we looked at placing a Mobile Order at Kona Cafe and Capt. Cook’s, we got the same message for both locations asking us to pick a different location.

The lobby restrooms are also currently closed.

However, Pineapple Lanai is still open if you’re craving a Dole Whip outside the parks.

The resort’s gift shops are also still currently open.

The resort is currently only open to stays for DVC members, and a Cast Member told us those rooms should be fine. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on the situation and let you know when we have more information. There is no estimation on how long this issue will take to fix, but we’ll keep you updated.
