Thinking of visiting Disney World soon?

Together Again Face Mask

Then, you’ve probably seen that Disney World currently requires all guests ages 2 and up to wear an appropriate face covering. With distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine now underway for some groups, Disney has updated their mask policy and we’re sharing all the details here with you.

According to the Walt Disney World website, face masks are still required for all guests ages 2 and up as well as Cast Members, INCLUDING those who have received a COVID-19 vaccine. So, even if you have already received your coronavirus vaccine, you will still be required to wear a face mask while at Walt Disney World.

Guests are reminded to bring their own face coverings and wear them at all times, except when actively eating or drinking while stationary and keeping an appropriate physical distance from others. Face masks should also be removed when swimming, and can be removed at relaxation zones.

Some of the newest masks being worn are those with a clear, plastic panel over the mouth area, similar to the one in the photo below. If you’d like to wear a mask of this kind to Disney World, here are the rules you MUST follow.

The face covering MUST be made of a fabric mask featuring a solid plastic panel that contains NO openings. Additionally, the solid plastic panel MUST be attached to the fabric of the face mask on ALL sides using a tight knit stitching.

In addition, the face mask must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Be made with at least 2 layers of breathable material
  • Fully cover the nose and mouth and secure under the chin
  • Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
  • Be secured with ties or ear loops and allow the Guest to remain hands-free

So, be sure to check if your mask meets all of these requirements.

Also, note that neck gaiters, open-chin triangle bandanas, and face coverings containing valves, mesh material, or holes of any kind are not allowed.

Disney has also specifically noted that the use of a face mask is not a substitute for physical distancing. So, keep in mind that even though you’ll be wearing a face mask in the park, you’ll still need to maintain an appropriate physical distance from others.
