PHOTOS: Construction Continues on the New Universal Studios Store at Universal CityWalk Orlando

universal-studios-store-construction-citywalk-orlando-october-30-2020-17

The Universal Studios Store will soon have a new home at Universal CityWalk Orlando, and “production” on the new space is well underway. As we entered CityWalk from the main entrance, we could see plenty of metal framework up around the exterior. It’s very possible that the building could be expanded during the construction to better accommodate the flagship store. More framework can be found as we turn the corner towards the entrance to Universal Studios Florida. A tarp is […]

Review! One of Our Favorite EPCOT Treats is BACK!

Kringla Bakeri og Kafe has been baking up treats in EPCOT’s Norway Pavilion for quite some time.

Kringla Bakeri og Kafe sign

The bakery reopened back in September, serving some Norwegian favorites such as the Troll Horn and School Bread. However, they were missing a pretty iconic treat…Rice Cream!

Recently, we spotted the Rice Cream BACK in the bakery cases! Oh, how we missed you!

Kringla Bakeri og Kafe

This treat is made of a vanilla rice pudding base and a strawberry glaze on top. Simple yet delicious! The strawberries perfectly compliment the rice pudding and make this a refreshingly light snack. If you are not used to the texture of rice pudding, you may not like this! It is not as smooth or creamy as plain pudding because of the rice.

Rice Cream

We thought this treat was lacking a little bit today because it is usually filled to the top of the cup. It was still satisfying, we are just used to them completely filled! Anyone looking for a slightly sweet treat and doesn’t mind the rice texture will enjoy this.

Rice Cream

You can find this in EPCOT’s Norway pavilion for $3.79. We are hoping this treat is back and here to stay! We will continue to keep you updated on the latest Disney snack news.

We have more updates on the newest Disney app to be launched on November 1st!

We previously reported that we had seen a new app for Disney’s Aulani Resort and Spa. We now have the details on who this new app is for, and how it will help resort guests plan and manage their vacation reservations!

Recently, Disney announced that on November 1st, the same day the Aulani Disney Resort and Spa will begin its phased reopening, Disney will also be launching the Aulani Resort Mobile App.

This app seems to have some of the functions of the My Disney Experience App in that it allows guests to:

  • Manage their Aulani Resort reservation details
  • Check-in through the online check-in service
  • Find places of interest on the map

Disney has also mentioned that the app will help families maximize their time with their family by allowing guests to plan their day, search for daily activities, and stay connected to the magic during their visit.

NEWS! TWO Disney World Attractions Evacuated After Small Fire!

Sometimes things go wrong in Disney World.

Cinderella Castle

We’ve seen countless animatronic malfunctions, and boats have sunk with guests in them, but today there was an incident that caused the evacuation of TWO attractions!

Today, as we were enjoying the opening number of the Country Bear Jamboree show, the lights turned on and there was an announcement telling guests to evacuate.

Country Bear Jamboree Evacuation

We later found out that there was a small fire in the kitchen of Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe! This caused both the Country Bear Jamboree and the Tiki Room to be evacuated. The fire at the restaurant was not visible to any guests, a Cast Member told us that was the reason for the evacuation and the long line at the Tiki Room.

Tiki Room Line After Evacuation

If we learn anymore about this incident, we will be sure to update you, so stay tuned!

Video: Ghosts Are Giving Cinderella Castle a Halloween Makeover on the Disney World App!

Who else is all dressed up and ready to celebrate Halloween? (And, yes, a themed spirit jersey does count!)

Halloween Cupcake

While we love carving pumpkins and watching scary movies at home, Disney World is still one of our top places to visit on October 31st! Today may be filled with treats like the Halloween Cupcake, Cookie, and Nitro Cake Pop, there’s a surprise for guests on the My Disney Experience app, too.

When we hopped onto My Disney Experience today, we were greeted with a little Halloween adventure! A few ghosts have teamed together to give Cinderella Castle a wicked makeover, complete with Mickey pumpkins, orange flags, and twisted trees. 🎃

We almost wish Cinderella Castle could look this spooktacular each night when we’re in Magic Kingdom. However, we’re admiring the last bits of the Halloween decorations before Christmas takes over soon!

Take a look at the crowds we’ve seen inside the parks today for Halloween!

REVIEW – Sunshine Seasons Is a Quick Service Dining Option that Shines Bright at EPCOT

EPCOT may be considered the foodies park, and for good reason, but sometimes you may just want something inspired by American cuisine rather than something international. Sunshine Seasons is currently the only quick service dining option inside Future World. The good news is the food is pretty great. The other good news is it offers convenient mobile ordering and an interesting setting.

Our team visited EPCOT this week and I was curious about the state of things at Sunshine Seasons. So with a suggestion from me and a Twitter poll to our followers, our team visited this quick service location. The menu at Sunshine Seasons is one of the largest of any quick service location on Disney property, though it is slightly reduced right now. The focus is primarily on American modern classic fare, but there are a few Latin and Greek influences too.

The Land Crusher Sandwich and Oak-grilled Salmon at Sunshine Seasons

Our Twitter followers selected two entrees for our team to (hopefully) enjoy:

  • Oak-grilled Salmon – Served with Cheese Grits and Andouille Corn Succotash, $12.99
  • The Land Crusher – Pulled Pork and Cheddar piled high on Texas Toast served with Chips, $10.99

Good job Twitter followers! Both entrees were enjoyed by our team. The Land Crusher won out. It is a robust sandwich that could feed two people, but is perfectly acceptable if consumed by one person. It is delicious. You might get a few curious looks when eating this large, messy sandwich, but it is worth it.

Oak-grilled Salmon at Sunshine Seasons

The Oak-grilled Salmon is a great option for those that prefer something healthful, but satisfying. Salmon at Walt Disney World does have a sad tendency to be overcooked, and such was the case with this dish. Still, the cheese grits and Andouille succotash (corn and lima beans, peppers, and Andouille sausage) were two really great sides that helped elevate the plate.

One of the helpful resources on our site and our Lines app is the listings for every Walt Disney World dining option. Thanks to our readers we are able to include ratings and rankings for every restaurant. Our readers giving Sunshine Seasons a 90% thumbs up rating, and rank it at number 27 out of 108 quick service options at Walt Disney World. This makes it one of the highest rated options and a great choice.

Pick-Up Windows at Sunshine Seasons
Sunshine Seasons Dining Area (photo is pre COVID-19)

Mobile ordering is available at this location, which is one of only two quick service locations at EPCOT with it available. Mobile ordering is really convenient especially when you place your order while in line for a ride, and then check-in to pick up you’re order when you’re done with the ride. Sunshine Seasons resembles a modern mall food court, but the dining area is in beneath the atrium of The Land pavilion with views of Living with the Land boat ride and Soarin’ creating an exciting atmosphere. There are four sections of seating, each with tables that resemble one of the four seasons (not the band, the actual seasons).

Have you ever dined at Sunshine Seasons? Where’s your favorite place to dine at EPCOT?
