The Haunted Mansion ghost recruitment committee has really stepped their game up a notch lately!

We’ve seen everything from new Haunted Mansion Minnie Ears to Haunted Mansion Crocs and everything in between. It’s definitely a great time to be a Haunted Mansion fan.

The Haunted Mansion was an opening day attraction in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.

To this day, it remains an iconic and incredibly popular attraction.

You’ll find the attraction over in Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom.

Before you enter the Mansion itself, you’ll walk past the courtyard…

…and into the outdoor portion of the queue. This area was added a number of years ago and features all kinds of interactive elements. It should be noted that many of these interactive elements are unavailable at the moment.

Once you exit the outdoor queue, you are invited into the Stretching Room for a pre-show where you’re reminded “There’s no turning back now.” Currently, as part of the adjustments made to this queue for social distancing, you simply walk through the Stretching Room, rather than stay there for the pre-show.

Once you hop aboard your Doom Buggy, you’ll get to enjoy a ride around the Mansion and get a look at its 999 happy haunts. But, we hear there’s room for 1,000 — any volunteers?

Along your trip, you’ll meet quite a few characters, including the Hitchhiking Ghosts.

But, two of the most prominent characters you’ll see are Madame Leota…

…and Constance Hatchaway.

You’ll find Madame Leota floating in her crystal ball in the séance room, encouraging those goblins and ghoulies from last Halloween to awaken the spirits with their tambourine! You can also spot her tombstone on the outside of the Mansion.

Constance Hatchaway is the bride who you’ll find in the attic near portraits of her former husbands, each of whom seem to have met a violent and rather similar demise.

It seems Constance is quite handy with an axe.

As we were thinking about all of our favorite characters from The Haunted Mansion, we got to wondering who the true star of the Mansion really is. So, we asked our followers on Instagram: “Who’s the REAL star of the Haunted Mansion — Madame Leota or Constance Hatchaway?” 19,817 of our followers voted on this one and here are the results…74% say Madame Leota is the star, while 26% feel Constance Hatchaway really takes the cake!

She may not have gotten the majority of the votes, but Constance Hatchaway still has some pretty serious fans! One reader even said: “I am offended by this poll result.”

Her fans are ready to cut into the conversation to defend this spooky bride as the real star of the show!

We wouldn’t necessarily advise marrying Constance, but she’s definitely a fun character to admire…from a safe distance away.

Madame Leota

Madame Leota fans really called in the spirits and won the vote this time. We’ve joked about starting a Madame Leota fan club with all of the guests waiting in line to purchase her souvenir sipper, but it seems like the need for her fan club to materialize is becoming more and more apparent!

Madame Leota fans will be happy to know that more merchandise has been released this year featuring their favorite character.

We’re hoping we’ll see even more of this fan-favorite character on new items in the future!

Both! Or Neither?

Some of our followers, though, couldn’t bear to pick between these two amazing characters. One told us: “Don’t make me choose! I love them both!!”

Others felt that another character entirely deserved to win. One follower said: “Neither. The Grave digger’s dog is the only acceptable answer.” Poor little pup! He is most definitely a very good boy.
