NEWS: Florida Governor Extends State of Emergency for Another Two Months

Disney World has been open for almost two months, but Florida continues to face the global health crisis.

The state was placed under a State of Emergency beginning March 9th. The State of Emergency order has been extended twice since its initial filing and was set to expire tomorrow. Now, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has filed a new executive order to extend the State of Emergency by another 60 days.

DeSantis issued the order of extension this morning meaning that the new expiration date for the State of Emergency is November 3rd. This order is subject to change; we may see another extension or we may see an order to let it expire early depending on the health crisis.

Florida no longer has any travel restrictions in place from the gubernatorial office, so the state of emergency does not necessarily impact any trips to the state. We will be checking in on this situation often so stay tuned to DFB for the latest updates.
