Your Disney Must-eat List: the Sprinkles Cupcake Sundae

In one of last week’s columns, I mentioned that I’d like to pop in from time to time and suggest a little something to add to your Disney must-eat list. Last week’s item was the House Fromage Board found at Topolino’s Terrace at Disney’s Riviera Resort. Today, I have a snack that’s sure to satisfy even the biggest sweet tooth.

I know that Sprinkles, found in Disney SpringsTown Center, isn’t exclusive to Walt Disney World, but, if you’re looking for a yummy treat on a summer’s afternoon (or any afternoon, really), I’d like to suggest giving the haven for all things sweet a try.

When I was a kid, the pantry in my grandparents’ West Palm Beach kitchen was a treasure trove of yummy snacks. They always had the best snacks, and they definitely got brownie points (literally) with their grandchildren because of it. Hostess chocolate cupcakes filled with cream were something that were always found in that magical pantry.

Fast forward to me being an adult, and, while it’s dangerous for me to keep those Hostess cupcakes in my own pantry (I can’t be trusted with having cupcakes on demand), the Chocolate Marshmallow cupcake found at Sprinkles is the perfect treat when I’m missing my childhood favorite. And, since you’re going to be stopping by Sprinkles, why stop at simply eating a cupcake when you could enjoy that cupcake split in half with a generous scoop of Sprinkles’ amazing ice cream in the middle? I mean, if you’re going to go for it, why not really go for it?

I humbly submit for your consideration the Sprinkles Cupcake Sundae. Ringing in at right around $8, this treat is the perfect cool and creamy snack for the middle of your Disney Springs day. The Sprinkles team members will take the cupcake flavor of your choice, split the top from the bottom, and pair it with your ice cream flavor of choice. It’s just so incredibly good.

My favorite flavor combination (and the only one I’ve tried, to be honest, because why mess with perfection) is to pair a Chocolate Marshmallow cupcake with their Rocky Road ice cream. Pete swears by Sprinkles’ Lucky Charms ice cream, and I’m sure I’ll get around to trying that one at some point, but, for now, this one’s my favorite.

As of right now, Sprinkles has reopened, but is offering a limited menu. Cupcakes can be ordered via their mobile app in boxes of 4, and single cupcakes can be purchased by using their cupcake ATM. I’m hoping that the sundaes will be available again in the near future.

Do you have a favorite Sprinkles cupcake or ice cream flavor? What treat would you recommend that I add to my Walt Disney World must-eat list? Please let me know in the comments section below. Happy snacking!
