Disney World Is Not Requiring Temperature Checks at the Hotels at This Time

Before select Disney World resorts began their phased reopenings today, several new health and safety procedures were announced.

And yesterday, guests who would be arriving at Disney World’s newly reopened resorts were sent a “must-read” e-mail which included a Health Acknowledgement.

When we arrived at Disney’s Riviera Resort and Disney’s Contemporary Resort today, we were surprised when we entered without having our temperatures taken.

We noticed many health and safety reminders were posted near the entrances, but there was no mention of guests being required to undergo a mandatory temperature screening nor did we see a health screening area where temperature checks would be conducted.

Disney has stated face masks must be worn at all times at Disney World’s theme parks and hotel common areas, and temperature checks will be mandatory for entering parks. We thought Disney World might be temperature screening its hotel guests as well. However, this doesn’t appear to be the case as of now.

After talking with a Cast Member at two different resorts, we were told that they will not be conducting temperature screenings at hotels at this time. It’s possible temperature screenings may be required at a later date, especially once the theme parks begin to reopen on July 11th and July 15th, but as of now, guests will not have their temperature taken at the hotels.

You MUST have a dining reservation to visit a different Disney World resort than the hotel you’re staying at. Learn more details here.
