EPCOT is home to many festivals throughout the year.
Currently, the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is going on from now until February 24th. Shortly after this festival wraps up, the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival will return from March 5th until June 2nd. There is so much to see and do at EPCOT’s festivals, but one of our favorite things is to try all the good eats at the different food booths.
Cast Members who work in the food booths are working hard to get you through the line as quickly as possible, and sometimes they wish they could say these nine things, but they can’t because they are too nice.
Before we dive in, if you want to conquer the upcoming Flower and Garden Festival like a DFB pro, you will want to pre-order our DFB Flower & Garden Festival Guide 2025. This digital guide will give you insider tips and help you navigate EPCOT’s second-largest festival of the year with calendars, maps, and food booth photos. Plus, as a special bonus, you will receive the 2024 version of the guide!
Know What You Want Before It Is Time to Order
Lines for food booths can be super long, especially on the first and last weekends of a festival. It can be frustrating when someone is taking so long to order when they finally get up to the register.
There are menus in front of each booth, online, and in your festival passport. The odds are that if you got in line for a food booth, you would be there because you want to try something specific. Cast Members won’t rush you, and it is totally okay if you forget the name of a dish, as there is a menu in front of each register. To help out Cast Members and to keep the line moving, make sure to know what you want before it is time to place your order.
Have Your Wallet Out and Ready to Go
While you wait in line, it is a good idea to have your payment method ready to go, as well as your I.D. if you are ordering alcohol. Again, a Cast Member won’t say anything, but they are probably silently judging you, wondering why you were not prepared; plus, being ready to pay helps keep the line moving.
You Can Only Order Two Drinks Per I.D.
While it can be fun to try all the different drinks at the food booths, you can only order two drinks per valid I.D., which means if you want to order three drinks, someone else will also have to be with you to order. This is just Disney’s policy, and to avoid any disappointment, it is best to know this before you place an order.
6 Surprising Rules About Drinking in Disney World!
“Why would you put away your receipt?”
After you place your order at the register, the Cast Member will hand you a receipt to bring to the next Cast Member at the food window. While you may think your receipt is just for your records, you need to keep it out in order for the Cast Member to give you your food.
“How are you going to carry all of that?”
Sometimes, food booths are just so good that you want to try everything on the menu! If you know you are ordering a lot, it is a good idea to bring someone else with you to help carry your items. We like to bring a tray with us to make carrying our food to a table easier, as Disney World does not provide trays.
Tell Cast Members that You Have an Allergy
Disney takes allergies super seriously, but unlike table service restaurants where Cast Members will ask multiple times if you have an allergy, festival Cast Members do not ask. Don’t be afraid to ask if a dish can be made allergy-friendly or to see a list of ingredients! Disney even lists the booths with allergy-friendly items online!
“It’s okay if you don’t like everything on the dish; give it a try!”
Festival food can be a bit adventurous sometimes, but don’t knock a dish until you try it! If there is something that you don’t usually like about a dish, you may end up liking it, as all the ingredients that make up the dish are supposed to complement each other. And who knows, you may not even end up tasting the ingredients you don’t like!
Festival Booths are NOT Quick Service
Festival booths and quick service locations are two different things. Although you do get your food rather quickly at festival booths, they are not equipped the same way that a quick-service restaurant is.
If you are looking for a free water cup, most of the time, festival booths will not have them readily available. Instead, head to the nearest quick service location or check the My Disney Experience app for a map of the water bottle refill stations.

“You pronounced that wrong.”
For food booths around the World Showcase, sometimes cultural representative Cast Members from the country you are in work the food booths. Now, we have all been there when we want to order a dish but don’t know how to pronounce it. Just try your best, even if the Cast Member teases you a bit; it is all in good fun!
Although Cast Members probably wish they could tell you these things, they are more than happy to help you and answer any questions that you may have! If you want to visit the Festival of the Arts before the Flower and Garden Festival rolls around, make sure to do so by February 24th!
