3 Big Reasons Magic Kingdom Will Be More Crowded in 2025

3 Big Reasons Magic Kingdom Will Be More Crowded in 2025

2025 is here and Disney World will see a lot of changes this year.

Crowds at Magic Kingdom

Tons of construction will be beginning in Disney World this upcoming year, which means that things will be looking different than what we know, Magic Kingdom especially. We’re here to give you the warning that it might be more crowded than you are expecting!

Rides Closed

We are seeing a lot of rides at Disney World closed for refurbishment. At Magic Kingdom, the Astro Orbiter is currently closed until the summer of 2025. The Hall of Presidents is closed with no specific reopening date and Big Thunder Mountain is under a major refurbishment with it not opening until 2026. When rides are closed for refurbishment not only can it be frustrating, but it will also add to how busy it feels.

Since those rides aren’t being used, then the people who would be in those queues are now having to redistribute elsewhere. This will make it feel more crowded while you’re walking around the park.

Construction Walls

It could also feel more crowded in 2025 because we might see a lot of construction walls popping up in a major area of the park. As we learned last year at D23, a Cars Land is coming to the Magic Kingdom in the future. It will be built on the Rivers of America so this is a major project.

We could see construction walls go up all around the Rivers of America making it feel more closed off and more crowded. Depending on where the walls go, it could impact some standing room that is usually used for the parade route throughout Frontierland and Liberty Square. Of course, we aren’t sure just yet how it could impact things, but this is something to look out for. We also will have Villains Land coming and it has us wondering if the railroad will be impacted as well.

New Things to Do

We have two very exciting things coming to Magic Kingdom this year. First, something we cannot stop thinking about, the new Pirates of the Caribbean tavern! The Pirates of the Caribbean-themed space will welcome guests of all ages with a variety of food and beverage options. Disney has also teased that there will be some “magical surprises” in store. This will open in late 2025 and we expect that this will draw a big crowd ready to hang out here.

brand new nighttime parade is coming to Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in the summer of 2025. Get ready for Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away! It will be filled with gorgeous lights and some of our favorite Disney characters. We are so excited for a new nighttime parade and we know we aren’t the only ones. We think this will also bring in Disney fans when it debuts this summer.
