Now that we’ve looked at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!

Eats

First up, we grabbed Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese for $6! We have enjoyed it in previous years and have high hopes for it this year!

Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese

This is a popular item of the festival. You can’t go wrong with a classic! The soup comes in an Andy Warhol-inspired can, and you get a delicious little grilled cheese on the side. It may be a little basic, but we’re happy to see this menu item back at the Festival this year.

Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese

And it is just as comforting and delicious as we remember! It is pretty hard to beat a buttery grilled cheese with gooey cheese and a side of warm tomato soup. It isn’t anything that is going to knock your socks off, but it is a delicious combination that we love every year.

Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese

We then grabbed the Tomato Soup with pimento cheese, bacon, and fried green tomato grilled cheese! You can pick this up for $6.75.

Tomato Soup with pimento cheese, bacon, and fried green tomato grilled cheese

This was a new item in 2023, and we were big fans. Last year, everything went beautifully together. While we still enjoyed it this year, we had a few complaints about the grilled cheese. The fried green tomato was a bit soggy and the whole sandwich was on the oily side.

We think the combo of the butter, bacon, and mayo, just made it too oily. However, the flavors still work well together and we enjoyed this grilled cheese! Although the plain grilled cheese will probably be what we dream about tonight.

Drinks

In terms of drinks at this booth, we got the returning Bleu Spectrum for $10.50. This cocktail is made with Blanc de Bleu Cuvée Mousseux with boba pearls and has been consistently offered at this booth since 2023! We haven’t always been the biggest fans, but we wanted to give it another shot to see if it had upped its game. It’s still a very appealing drink to look at (it certainly fits the theme of the festival!), and it’ll go beautifully on our Instagram page.

Bleu Spectrum

It still didn’t overly impress us this year. It is a nice drink with a bubbly wine flavor. You could taste the alcohol, and we thought the popping pearls looked great in the drink. When you could get the popping pearls in your sip, they added a great sweetness and texture, BUT it was very hard to get a sip with the popping pearls without taking a massive gulp.

Bleu Spectrum

We definitely wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to grab this drink, as there are plenty of other drink options that we enjoy more! However, it could be a good option if you are looking for a bubbly cocktail.

Bleu Spectrum

Also returning this year is the Brooklyn Brewery Pulp Art Hazy IPA. This drink is $5.75 for 6 oz and $9.75 for 12 oz. It’s a pretty standard IPA.

OVERALL

The Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese continues to be one of our favorites! It is comforting and delicious, and it still tastes just as good this year. We also enjoyed the Tomato Soup with pimento cheese, bacon, and fried green tomato grilled cheese, but the classic grilled cheese was the winner at this booth!

Pop Eats!

While the Bleu Spectrum drink didn’t impress us, we can guarantee we will be back to this booth for more grilled cheese. That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from!
