Disney Files Permit for New Disney Villains Stage Show at Hollywood Studios

Walt Disney World filed a Notice of Commencement permit for the new Disney Villains show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After

Notice of Commencement for property at 8451 Sweet Blvd Dr, Bay Lake, FL, including owner information, permit details, general contractor, and improvement specifics. Rumor has it that even the Disney Villains would be envious of these impressive upgrades!.

The address on the permit is 854 Sunset Blvd DHS, the location of Sunset Showcase, where Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After will be performed. The theater is located between Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, accessible through the coaster’s courtyard.

In a vibrant and theatrical scene reminiscent of Disney Parks, a performer takes center stage under the spotlight, surrounded by an eager 2025 audience and colorful framed images.

The permit contracts InterAmerica Stage for “general construction.” InterAmerica Stage has worked with Disney several times before. They specialize in stage rigging, stage machinery, and theatrical equipment.

A purple and green theater mask floats amid shattered picture frames containing Disney villains in an eerie, smoke-filled room, evoking the chilling vibe of Disney's Villains Show.

Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After replaces Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy, which closed permanently in October. Sunset Showcase also previously housed Club Villain, a separately ticketed event featuring Dr. Facilier that ran in 2016 and 2017.

Disney announced the Disney Villains show in September and revealed the name of the show in December. It’s scheduled to debut this summer.

The creative minds at Disney Live Entertainment will transform Sunset Showcase into the mysterious, reflective realm of the Magic Mirror. The show will feature appearances by dozens of the most infamous evildoers, with fiendish foes Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook and Maleficent each breaking through the glass to take the stage in live production numbers.
