Iger shared photos of the destruction in a post on his Instagram page.
He notes that he witnessed firsthand the devastation caused by the fires while driving through the Pacific Palisades.
My heart goes out to everyone who has lost homes and businesses, and to all whose lives have been impacted, including thousands of Disney employees.

Former Imagineer Rohde also commented on the destruction with a post on his Instagram page as well.
Most of the places where we all lived burnt to ashes last night. The homes of many Imagineers who worked on many of the parks and attractions that Disney fans know and love are gone. Homes filled with memories, care, love and the expression of the same creative talent that went into the parks and films. Fire, when it comes, comes so fast that we must leave that all behind.
Pacific Palisades and Malibu are more famous and their equally devastating situation easily captures the nations eye. But Altadena was our home and home base. And as of this evening much of my old neighborhood of Altadena has vanished and with it the homes of many of my dear friends and colleagues. Send a prayer.

Per KTLA news, the Palisades Fire has become the most destructive wildfire in Los Angeles history. The fire has affected 17,000 acres. More than 800 firefighting personnel are battling the blaze and struggling to keep it contained.
Authorities believe at least 1,000 structures, many of them being homes, have been destroyed by the fire. Evacuation orders extend throughout the Pacific Palisades to the Pacific Ocean and include areas of Santa Monica, Malibu, and Topanga.
Universal Studios Hollywood and CityWalk were closed yesterday and remain closed today due to the fires. At the time of publishing, Disneyland Resort is operating as normal.
The fire was first reported around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and the cause remains under investigation.
