If you are reading this post while hungry, BE WARNED. Seriously, we’re not joking! You’re willing to keep reading? Okay, well then — we’ve got some DELICIOUS details to share with you!
The 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays has officially begun, and there is a lot to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, merchandise items to grab (of course), and even concerts to watch. But don’t let it overwhelm you. We’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to one spot in particular — the Le March de Noel Holiday Kitchen — to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a try? Let’s find out!
Menu
Over at the Le Marche de Noel Holiday Kitchen, you’ll find a variety of available items. We’ve spotted some returning favorites and some new additions and even spied a bit of change up to an item from last year!
Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!
Eats
First up, we grabbed a returning item, the Crème De Saumon Fumé en Brioche for $8.75. This item is a Smoked salmon spread on a sesame brioche roll with cucumber and radishes.
We first had this little sandwich last year and it was SO GOOD. It was a cold, salmon salad with fresh vegetables on the dill brioche — which was PACKED with flavor and was so soft. If you like salmon and dill, you should absolutely go for this. Salmon can be on the fishy side, but the addition of the cucumbers and the fresh lettuce helped to balance things out. We loved this last year, so how does it hold up this year?
It’s a slightly different presentation this year, but the flavor profile is exactly the same as the past year’s. There are super fresh radishes and super fresh cucumbers that have an amazing crunch and the smoked salmon is so delicious. It has just the most delicious flavor without being overly fishy — and it’s so flavorful that even though there was a little too much bread-to-filling ratio, it didn’t really matter because the salmon was so flavorful.
Next up, we grabbed a returning item, the Rôti de Jambon for $7.95. This item is a Roasted ham with mushrooms, pearl onions, bacon, white wine mustard sauce, and dauphin roasted herb potatoes.
When we had this in 2022, we thought this was a savory and salty explosion — but in the best way. The salty ham pairs so well with the mushrooms and mustard sauce, which has an excellent tang. Last year, we felt the same! The mushrooms were so thick and hearty and paired really well with the ham and mustard sauce. It’s a really warm, savory dish that we really enjoyed. So does this item hold up this year, too?
The roti is quite good but, at the end of the day, it’s so much ham. It’s got mushrooms and gravy and these little pearl onions — it’s just so savory, salty, delicious, and hearty, and it feels like a holiday favorite without being overly heavy. We really enjoyed it last year and it’s the same this year, but it’s not really something you want to scarf down — it’s pretty salty!
Rounding out our snacks from this booth, we grabbed dessert. After all, this is France, and what’s a French meal without a little something sweet? The Bûche de Noël for $6.95. This item is a Chocolate fudge Christmas log with a caramel cream center.
A Bûche de Noël is a classic French holiday treat. Last year’s version was a Gingerbread Christmas log with milk chocolate and hazelnut ganache. But chocolate fudge and caramel cream? We had to grab this to see how it was!
It’s moist and it’s delicious. It’s creamy with a lot of icing and filling — the chocolate and caramel go so well together, but, it’s really just a chocolate cake so it’s not the most exciting dessert at the festival.
Drinks
In terms of drinks on this menu, we got a Frozen Hot Chocolate Martini for $13.95. This festive cocktail is made with Vodka, chocolate milk, and whipped cream. It’s made our list of best of the fest in the past, and we keep coming back to it every year. It’s a Florida-friendly version of hot cocoa. Does this little understated cocktail still hold the key to our hearts this year?
Yes, yes it does. It tastes like Nesquik chocolate milk mixed with vodka — but you can’t even really taste the vodka so it’s just a really delicious frozen hot chocolate. We also had several people ask us where we got it so be warned that you might get (gently) accosted if you grab this one!
And to round our yuletide trip to France, we got the Spiced Cranberry Punch for $9.95. This new cocktail is made with Pol Rémy Sparkling Wine, cranberry juice, orange juice, and spiced brown sugar.
We loved this! It’s made with a really high-quality sparkling wine that has amazing flavor on its own and then it’s got the juices and the sugar in it that makes it taste like this delicious, cool spiced holiday wine. It’s so festive and so delicious — kind of reminiscent of a mimosa but with a little bit more fun holiday flavor.
You can also grab the Chateau Haut Beaumard Cabernet Sauvignon for $5.95. So, what do we think of the France booth this year?
OVERALL
Once again, Le Marche de Noel was a hit for us — it may even be our BEST booth of the entire festival this year (but what else is new?!) The roti is so savory and the salmon sandwich is fresh and delicious. Plus, it’s hard to beat that frozen hot chocolate — and the new cocktail is a great addition, too!
That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from!
