Disney on Broadway Developing ‘Coco’ Live Stage Show

Disney on Broadway is developing a “Coco” live stage show, L. Seven Taylor (Mufasa in “The Lion King” on Broadway) announced during yesterday’s Disney on Broadway concerts during the 2023 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts.

@ThatDisneyBoi shared videos on Twitter of Taylor and Mandy Gonzalez (Amneris in “Aida”) performing together last night. Ahead of Gonzalez’s rendition of “Remember Me” from “Coco,” Taylor said that the “Coco” stage show is in development. This wasn’t a slip on Taylor’s part either — he repeated it at multiple shows in a clearly scripted section. @ThatDisneyBoi also pointed out that “Coco” has been included among other Disney on Broadway posters at the America Gardens Theatre throughout the festival.

Disney has not released any further information about the potential “Coco” Broadway show. Even if a show is in development, it may not come to fruition.

Pixar’s “Coco” was released in 2017 and follows a young boy’s journey through the Land of the Dead on the Day of the Dead. It’s proven successful enough to be added to Mickey’s PhilharMagic — the first time the attraction has been changed — and for villain Ernesto de la Cruz to appear at Oogie Boogie Bash in Disney California Adventure. Not to mention a possible themed land or lands in development at Magic Kingdom could include “Coco.”
