Yes, Disney World, We Did Want Some Ice Cream with our Whipped Cream.

The holidays are here! Not only are decorations up around the parks but Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is officially happening in Magic Kingdom as well.

Magic Kingdom Decorations

And to celebrate the holidays, Disney is releasing a laundry list of new treats. We will be reviewing the new and exciting items so you know what is worth it and what might be worth a skip. And this treat we’re about to talk about now will make Nightmare Before Christmas fans very happy!

The NEW Lock, Shock, and Barrel Sundae is available at Auntie Gravity’s in Tomorrowland. It’s made with festive vanilla cake, vanilla ice cream, strawberry topping, whipped cream, and Christmas sprinkles with a Lock, Shock, and Barrel chocolate piece. This treat should be available during regular park hours and during Mickey’s Very Merry from now until December 31st.

But as an almost $18 sundae, is it worth that hefty price?

We might’ve ordered the first of the day and as the description notes, it has vanilla cake, vanilla ice cream, strawberry topping, whipped cream, and the chocolate festive piece on top, all served in that familiar tub that used to house Uncle Orville’s Sundae. Given that the primary ingredients were vanilla cake and vanilla ice cream, we thought this treat was going to be…. well, vanilla. But the strawberry topping melts down into the vanilla ice cream and makes a yummy strawberry soft serve.

What makes the vanilla cake “festive” is that it is green. But don’t let that deter you, if you like other Disney vanilla cakes or cupcakes, you’ll like this, too. And our little sundae tub was OVERFLOWING is whipped cream! So, if you enjoy oodles of whipped cream with your sundae, this is the one for you.

But is it an $18 sundae? Well, since you get to keep the souvenir bathtub, it’s not a bad little treat. And it is big enough to share, so you have a fellow strawberry (and WHIPPED CREAM fan) in your party and you both wanna go in on this, it’ll hit the spot!

You can also snag a Sugar Plum Shake at Auntie Gravity’s. But just as a note, it is a Very Merry Christmas Party exclusive.

This is just the beginning when it comes to holiday treats in Disney World.
