We just saw a MAJOR clue that could mean the Walt Disney World Railroad will reopen soon!
At Fantasyland Station, too!
The fan-favorite attraction has been closed for YEARS now, leaving many fans wondering when the train will once again circle Magic Kingdom. We’ve seen a few hints that the train is returning soon, including a video released by Disney showing the train testing in the parks and even the train itself parked at the Main Street station. Now we have an update on the train’s progress!
Today we were riding the PeopleMover in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland when we spotted a very exciting sight: the Walt Disney World Railroad train was being tested over by the TRON: Lightcycle Run construction site!
It’s the train!
TRON: Lightcycle Run is a roller coaster that’s coming to Tomorrowland and is expected to open in the Spring of 2023. Construction on this coaster has interrupted the tracks for the Walt Disney World Railroad, which may have been part of the reason for the Railroad’s continued closure. We previously spotted a tunnel running through the site that we assumed was going to be for the train.

Today, that was confirmed as we saw the train running through the tunnel and past the coaster!
There it goes!
Could this mean the train will return soon? Only time may tell, but we’ll be watching for any updates from Disney. It’s possible that more testing is required for the train, so it could still be a bit before it officially reopens.
