PHOTOS: The Latest CHANGES at ‘TRON’, ‘Moana’, and More in Disney World

In case you haven’t already heard — the holidays have officially arrived at Disney World!

Magic Kingdom’s Christmas Tree!

Festive decorations started appearing last week, and then the official marker of the season — the Magic Kingdom Christmas Tree — popped up too. But, these aren’t the only new changes we’ve spotted around the parks and resorts, so come with us to check out the biggest Disney World construction updates from this week!

Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World Railroad

The Main Street Train Station has been all decked out for Christmas, but for now, we’ll still have to wait until we can actually climb aboard the train once again.

But, Disney recently shared a video on TikTok showing one of the Walt Disney World Railroad conductors actually testing the train! They captioned the video, “Testing is just beginning for the Walt Disney World Railroad crew.” You can read more about the testing and see the video at the link below!

TRON: Lightcycle Run

There’s a whole lot of organized chaos going on over at TRON in Tomorrowland. Last we saw, it looked like crews had completed the concrete work at the end of the ramp. Now, more equipment and materials have been moved into the space.

TRON progress

This seems to be a step towards progress and that eventual spring 2023 opening date!

EPCOT

CommuniCore Hall and Plaza

Things are starting to take shape over at CommuniCore Hall and Plaza, and here we can see a large crane lifting steel beams into place.

Things are taking shape!

It looks like what could be the festival hall area is being built over on the left side of the photo. Disney hasn’t shared when construction might be completed on this spot, but we’re hoping it’s around the same time that Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana opens.

Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana

Speaking of the new Moana-inspired attraction, more details are being added to the largest rock structure — but it also looks like some of the scaffolding has been removed from the smaller rock formations!

Moana construction

Things are progressing with the construction of this attraction, but we’ve still got a ways to go until it’s done. Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana will open in late 2023.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Dinosaur

The construction bushes are still out in front of the fountain at the entrance of Dinosaur in Animal Kingdom. The fountain was refurbished earlier this year, so we’re not quite sure what’s going on here!

Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ

Not much has changed since we checked in on the newest table service restaurant coming to Hollywood Studios, but Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ is supposed to be opening by the end of 2022.

Whether or not that will actually happen remains to be seen, but we’re crossing our fingers that we’ll get to eat here soon!
