We’ve Got Some Big Disney Foodie Updates for Tusker House & Kona Cafe!

Disney food news is honestly the best news. There are several restaurants that are returning and getting tasty enhancements! I think I am most excited about Akershus Royal Banquet Hall’s reopening announcement because it’s a Disney Princess dining experience. I have never been to Kona Cafe, but that Sautéed Red Quinoa sounds delicious. Okay, enough with the daydreaming. Grab a plate, and let’s dig in!

Tusker House Restaurant at Animal Kingdom

Starting November 1st, this dining location will be transitioning to an all-you-care-to-enjoy, buffet-style dining experience! This means guests can go and grab as much food as they can.

Here are the dishes you should keep your eye on when the Tusker House goes back to being a buffet. Guests can start their morning at Disney’s Animal Kingdom with a Zebra Coffee Cake, Simba Waffles, Mickey Waffles, and a variety of breakfast meats.

For lunch and dinner, you can enjoy a variety of bread and dips and house specialties like Spit-roasted Tandoori Chicken and Green Curry Shrimp. There are also plant-based options, including the Cauliflower Bunny Chow and various salads. There are some kid-friendly dishes to enjoy, like corn dog nuggets and macaroni and cheese, just to name a few. Of course, there are plenty of desserts to enjoy at the end of your meal.

Tusker House doesn’t just have fun, adventurous foods, but Donald Duck and some of his Disney friends will be joining the celebration. Make sure you grab a picture and a hug from your favorite Disney characters as they venture around the dining room.

Kona Cafe at Disney’s Polynesian Resort

Kona Cafe will be returning from its recent refurbishment. On November 1st, guests can once again dine at this fan-favorite restaurant but with a new, refreshed experience. The look, feel, and even some flavors of this relaxed café have changed, but Disney promises it will still feel familiar.

Kona Cafe will feature American cuisine with that Asian flare that makes it so unique and you can still watch the chefs at work in the onstage sushi kitchen. There are breakfast favorites that have cemented their place on the menu, including the delicious and can’t-miss Tonga Toast and Pineapple Macadamia Nut Pancakes served at breakfast.

These dishes are fan favorites for a reason. I mean just look at how tasty they look! Other food items that are returning to the menu are the Big Kahuna Burger and Seafood Pu Pu Platter. There will also be a new plant-based offering for dinner, the Sautéed Red Quinoa.

Disney has also let us know that reservations are available now for both Tusker House Restaurant and Kona Cafe. You definitely won’t want to miss out on these experiences on your next trip.
