October can be one of the BEST times to visit Disney World — and the crowds prove it.
Many people visit Disney World in October to attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or eat at EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival, or maybe you just want to take advantage of the slightly cooler weather and see all the Halloween decorations. Last week’s wait times were HIGH, so let’s check out this week’s average wait times!
If you scroll to the wait times below, you’ll easily see which rides tend to have higher wait times than others and why purchasing Genie+ might be a good plan for you. Genie+ costs $15 to $22 per person, per day, and whether it’s worth it to you depends entirely on what you like to do in Disney World. Want to spend less time in the standby lines? Genie+ gets you in the faster Lightning Lanes, and you can also buy Lightning Lane access a la carte for certain rides.
Below you’ll find the average wait times of every Disney World ride this past week so you can see how long you might have to wait in line this October. Wait times were high last week, but what about this week?
After that, we had Peter Pan’s Flight averaged 51 minutes, followed by Jungle Cruise at 41 minutes, Haunted Mansion at 42 minutes, Splash Mountain at 30 minutes, Pirates of the Caribbean at 29 minutes, Space Mountain at 32 minutes, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at 29 minutes, Astro Orbiter at 26 minutes, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at 26 minutes, and Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh at 24 minutes.
Next, Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid averaged 17 minutes, followed by Mickey’s PhilharMagic at 14 minutes, “it’s a small world” at 16 minutes, Magic Carpets of Aladdin at 15 minutes, Dumbo the Flying Elephant at 13 minutes, Barnstormer featuring the Great Goofini at 13 minutes, and Tomorrowland Speedway at 12 minutes.
Then, we saw Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover at 11 minutes, Mad Tea Party at 11 minutes, and Prince Charming Regal Carrousel at 11 minutes.
And rides with the lowest wait times were Liberty Square Riverboat at 5 minutes and Carousel of Progress at 4 minutes. Rides with no waits were Country Bear Jamboree, Tom Sawyer Island, Hall of Presidents, Enchanted Tiki Room, and Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse.
Coming in with the second average wait time was Frozen Ever After at 76 minutes, Test Track at 64 minutes, Soarin’ at 43 minutes, Mission: SPACE at 23 minutes, Spaceship Earth at 19 minutes, Living with the Land at 16 minutes, Journey into Imagination at 13 minutes, Turtle Talk with Crush at 13 minutes, Gran Fiesta Tour at 13 minutes, and The Seas with Nemo and Friends at 13 minutes.
If you want to see a theater show in EPCOT, they typically have low to zero wait times. Awesome Planet, Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along, Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival, Impressions de France, and Reflections of China all had no wait times this past week.
Let’s head over to Hollywood Studios, where Rise of the Resistance had the highest average wait time this week at 95 minutes. The ride’s average was 100 minutes last week, so that’s a five-minute decrease.
After that, we had Slinky Dog Dash averaging 96 minutes, Tower of Terror at 78 minutes, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at 66 minutes, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith at 63 minutes, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at 63 minutes, and Toy Story Mania at 62 minutes.
And finally, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue averaged 20 minutes, with Alien Swirling Saucers at 35 minutes, Walt Disney Presents at 16 minutes, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy at 14 minutes, and Muppet*Vision 3D at 10 minutes.
Finally, let’s stop at Animal Kingdom, where the ride with the longest average wait time this week was Avatar Flight of Passage at 103 minutes. Last week, this ride averaged a whopping 120 minutes, so this is a pretty good decrease.
Next up was Na’vi River Journey at 71 minutes, Kilimanjaro Safaris at 58 minutes, Expedition Everest at 32 minutes, Kali River Rapids at 30 minutes, and DINOSAUR at 27 minutes.
It’s Tough to Be a Bug averaged 13 minutes and Triceratop Spin averaged 13 minutes. The Boneyard and Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail averaged no wait time.
And those are the average wait times around Walt Disney World this week! Quite a few of the biggest rides’ wait times actually went DOWN this week, which is pretty surprising as we get close to the holiday season.
We recommend noting your favorite ride wait times to help you decide whether Genie+ is right for you — or help you plan your day around those rides. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news and updates.
