REVIEW: We’re Eating Chicken Tenders with Taco Toppings in Disney World

Which side are you on: Standard theme park food in Disney, or unique Disney offerings all the way?

Golden Oak Outpost

We’ve got members of our team on both sides of the matter. Most quick-service restaurants are more likely to have some more classic theme park offerings, whereas table service or sit-down meals can sometimes have more adventurous offerings — but there are plenty of exceptions to this! We headed to a quick-service spot in Magic Kingdom, the Golden Oak Outpost, to try some of their more standard options that are presented with a few unique additions.

The Pecos Pico Tenders are chicken tenders with shredded cheese, lettuce, and pico on top for $11.29. Underneath the chicken tenders, you also get some fries!

Pecos Pico Tenders

You may know exactly what we’re going to say…yep, these are just normal chicken tenders! The pico, lettuce, and cheese really don’t add too much flavor, and it’s hard to keep it on the chicken tender, especially if you’re eating on the go. We think there is some potential here. It just isn’t too practical. And if you are planning to dunk these in massive amounts of ketchup, the toppings might just feel out of place.

You can eat in front of Splash Mountain a few steps away though!

However, this is a very generous portion of white meat chicken, with some fries to go with it, so if you’re looking for a filling meal on the go during your busy park day, this could be a great option.

If you love chicken tenders, you’ll love these!

If you’re looking for more unique items at Disney, like items you can’t get at your local fast food restaurants, we suggest seeking out some of the more adventurous options at Magic Kingdom. But if you’re a picky eater, or you’ve got a picky eater in your group, you can’t go wrong with these!

Beware though, Disney just went through a ton of price hikes, so if you haven’t re-checked the pricing on the restaurants you were already planning on going to, check now so your budget isn’t thrown off while you’re in the parks. As always, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney food news!

We ranked EVERY SINGLE Magic Kingdom restaurant in one place, so you don’t have to spend days doing all the research!
