In addition to the giant Grizzly Bear Claw and the best cinnamon roll at Walt Disney World, Roaring Fork has added entrées, salads, and more to the menu at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
Barbecued Brisket and Burnt Ends – $18.99
Served with Potato Hash, Fiery Coleslaw, and Cornbread
These are fantastic burnt ends. There’s a smokey exterior with a moist interior, complemented by the perfect amount of barbecue sauce.
The brisket, however, was hard to cut, chewy, and a little dry. The dead center is moist and good.
We recommend requesting double burnt ends instead of brisket.
The fiery coleslaw has a good spicy kick.
Disney cornbread is magical. Buttery soft. Everything about this is perfect.
Country-style Baked Meatloaf – $14.99
Served with Buttery Green Peas, Chunky Mashed Potatoes, and Gravy
Not the worst thing we’ve ever had, but not our favorite here, either.
It comes with the standard buttery, thick mashed potatoes.
It’s a large portion size for the price, like a Thanksgiving feast. If you want to take a nap by the pool, this is the meal to get.
The meatloaf is thick, hearty, and well-seasoned. The sauce is sweet-tangy, similar to a Kansas City BBQ sauce.
Asian-style Noodle Salad – $12.99
Tofu, Crispy Rice Noodles, and Fried Wonton Strips
This salad is served cold. It’s very beige, and everything is the same shape.
It’s perfectly fine; nothing outrageous about it.
The dressing is a lite vinaigrette.
There’s a good amount of fried tofu, and it fills out the salad. But nothing about this stands out.
Heirloom Tomato Salad – $12.99
Pickled Wild Mushrooms, Burrata, Red Pepper Pesto, and Basil
There are three large burrata clumps of grocery store quality.
The mushrooms are nice and complemented well by the pesto.
It needs salt, but it was otherwise enjoyable and offered a “fresh” option.
Bear Mousse Cake – $7.99
Raspberry Mousse, Almond Cake, and Dark Chocolate Ganache
The bear is very cute, and the cake itself is thick.
While the dark chocolate ganache tempers the raspberry mousse somewhat, it’s still very overpowering.
Humphrey Bee Hive – $7.99
Humphrey’s passion is Honey! Chocolate Cake with Passion Fruit Mousse, Sugar Bees, and a White Chocolate Humphrey
It’s very cute and makes for great photographs.
The sugar bees, which we’ve seen on Walt Disney World desserts before, are delicate.
The passion fruit mousse tastes the same as the curd in the Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse at Satu’li Canteen.
The cake is soft and adds a hint of chocolate in each bite.
This was pretty enjoyable.
Almond-Walnut Bundt Cake – $6.29
Coffee Glaze and Cream Cheese Icing
The bundt cake was great, with a profound almond taste and actual pieces of walnut.
The chocolate cake is dark and moist, with the richness drawn out by the coffee glaze.
The cream cheese icing adds a sweet note while the cake itself is moist and soft.
We highly recommend this.
Blueberry-Thyme Crumb Pie – $6.29
The pie crust is flakey and buttery.
Thyme gives it an earthy feel.
It’s an attempt at something different for Disney, but it doesn’t impress. The thyme is not overpowering, but it’s not something we would get again.
Roaring S’more – $6.19
Chocolate Mousse, Graham Cracker Cake, Caramel Marshmallow
The caramel marshmallow is unbelievable. So good.
The chocolate is rich and delicious.
The marshmallows are thick yet delicate.
The graham cracker cake is hard and dry, maybe to hold the mousse. We would get this again and just not eat the cake. The top two layers are where it’s at.
For a quick service, this place is outstanding. It’s way above the league of other quick services. The portion sizes were very large and great for sharing. The burnt ends were our favorite entree, and the almond cake our favorite dessert, with the roaring s’more coming second because of the dry graham cracker cake. We loved our experience at Roaring Fork.
