It’s National Dessert Day! What’s Your Favorite Disney Dessert?

I already know this article will make me hungry so make sure you grab a snack for this one. It’s National Dessert Day, and Disney has some ICONIC desserts that need to be honored on this glorious day. Let’s list out the BEST Disney desserts.

Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar

This a classic Disney dessert. In my opinion, I think this is the best Disney dessert. On a hot summer day, there is nothing like a Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar in any of the four parks. I know this treat is labeled as a “basic” treat, and there’s the argument that there are better desserts out there. That is all valid, but I think it’s the best.

Dole Whip

If ice cream isn’t your thing, then you’ll love this. Dole Whip is a refreshing dessert; the main ingredient is pineapple for the basic version of Dole Whip. In recent years, Disney has gotten really fancy with all the different types of Dole Whip they make now. I love a nice plain Dole Whip while walking around Adventureland it completes the “vibe” of the land.

School Bread

This dessert is nowhere near the top of my list, but I hear Disney fans rave about the treat non-stop. This treat can be found in EPCOT at the Norway Pavilion. This is a sweet bread roll filled with vanilla custard and covered in sweet icing sprinkled with toasted coconut. I think the toasted coconut ruined it for me, but I loved the vanilla filling. This is a fan favorite, so you should try it at least once.

ANY Dessert from the Deconstructed Booth at the Festival of the Arts

The Deconstructed booth at the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts has some of the best festival food ever, including dessert. They had the most amazing deconstructed strawberry cheesecake that blew me away two years ago. This past festival, they changed up the dessert and did a deconstructed key lime pie. That key lime pie was the best key lime pie I ever had. Not only are the desserts delicious, but they are beautifully designed.

Beignets from Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter

These beignets are out of this world, and guess what? They can make allergy-friendly beignets too! These soft treats covered in powdered sugar have the key to my heart. The Mickey-shaped beignets have become a must-do for many Disney fans. You’ll know when someone gets these bad boys because they immediately share a picture on social media. That’s how cute this dessert is. This is the one dessert I will go out of my way for, even if I am in Disney Springs.

Disney Cupcakes

Now Disney doesn’t always get these right, but sometimes they do. Disney makes these beautiful cupcakes that always look ready for Instagram, but most of the time, they lack flavor. One of the better cupcakes is the Merry Menagerie Cupcake that shows up at Animal Kingdom during the holidays. That cupcake has the perfect flavor for the holidays, I promise. It’s a gingerbread cupcake with cream cheese icing and frosting. The best part is that it’s topped with a little polar bear and is covered in edible glitter.
